We have been ordering from Godfathers for the last 4 years, when living in Briar Hill and now Eltham.
I would like to give a better review, I really would. However the orders are consistently late.
After being informed via text confirmation and email that it would take 40 minutes for the order to arrive (from Briar Hill to Eltham) they are ALWAYS late by 20 minutes or more.
When I ring to query this, I’m told it’s the menulog apps fault. Guys, if you are running late, take responsibility, call the customer and keep them informed! A friendly attitude can go far and keep your customers feeling like they are actually important to you.
On a previous occasion, I rang up to inform the restaurant that all the pizzas had tilted on the way over (and were late) and the toppings were completely smeared across the side of the boxes.
I was not complaining, I merely thought it important that they were aware of the delivery driver perhaps not being aware of the correct handling of the bag or whatever... I spoke to a lady on the phone who became exasperated very quickly and passed me on to the owner who was very apologetic and promised a free drink with my next order if I call up. Big deal. The whole point of using the menulog app is the convenience of not having to call and also placing the order early.
The dessert slices are consistently different sizes and half the time never arrive with the ice cream which is supposed to be included in the price.
Guys, I hate confrontation or negativity but I feel like I’ve given you more than enough chances to get it right. Time management and customer service should be top of your priorities, not the bottom dollar.
We will no longer be ordering from you Godfathers, I hope you can pick up your game and make some positive...
Read moreI haven't ordered delivery from this restaurant in 6 months, where I found the food always nice. Tonight, it was the first time I actually went into the restaurant. Upon sitting down, we were given warm water and no acknowledgement/welcoming from the waitress. All three of us ordered the "beef & reef" for $30.00 each. The steak (300gm) was not only overcooked, but the quality of the meat was that fatty, it resulted in the meat being so chewy, it was not funny. When I attempted to let the owner (Sam) know of how we couldn't eat/finish our steaks, he completely ignored me and went on to let me know "it's the best steak you will ever have". I continued to deny this fact and he advised me that "I get the steak for $45 p/kg (not that I pay that) from St. Helena and it's the best cut of meat ever". He continued to completely ignore my further attempt for feedback advising me that "You were obviously the unlucky ones". Upon the disgust of his attitude towards, what I thought was a loyal customer, when I went to pay for the meal, he commented again whilst laughing "See you again, maybe next time you will be lucky" I was confused because I didn't think it was a casino and "had to be lucky" for $30.00 per head. Shame on the owners, shame on the staff and this is no way shape or form to look after their local customers. Will we be back - no. Will we order delivery again - no. Will we tell other locals not to order from this restaurant - yes. Will I inform my colleague critics at the Melbourne Food...
Read moreAfter extensive research of the menu I decided on a Godfather, the "Vito'" special with garlic (I asked for extra) artichokes, grilled eggplant and peppers, olives, with hot salami and tomato.
I collected the order at the given estimated time of readiness, I arrived at that time. The pizza was cold. There was lots of gooey tasteless cheese, a few pieces of mild salami, a slice of tomatomfor each slice and a soggy base, a combination of grease from the over abundant cheese and the uncooked tomato. There was no sign of any garlic at all, not even a whiff. As for the grilled artichokes, eggplant and peppers, well, I did find a couple of olives.
To tackle the temperature issue it would make sense to have taken my phone number to call me when my order would be ready for collection in say, 10 minutes.
The menu is too extensive and could be reduced to a quarter of the current to ensure a quality product. The current menu would require most of the toppings and sauces to be stored in the freezer. It would be impossible to have and prepare fresh ingredients to be able to cater for an unknown number of customers at any given time. At least freshly...
