Our experience at Golden Dragon Palace was thoroughly disappointing and upsetting. Despite clearly informing the staff that we were vegetarians, we were shockingly served chicken spring rolls — a serious and unacceptable oversight. Serving meat to vegetarians is not just a mistake; it shows a complete disregard for customers' dietary needs.
We also ordered an eggplant claypot, expecting the saucy, flavourful dish described on the menu. Instead, we received a dry stir-fry on a plate. When we expressed our concern, they simply brought back the same dry dish in a clay pot — unchanged. It felt like a mockery rather than a genuine attempt to resolve the issue.
To make matters worse, the San Choy Bow entrée we ordered didn't arrive altogether and mains started, there was a total lack of coordination and care.
The manager, who took our order, was particularly unpleasant — dismissive, uninterested, and unwilling to take responsibility for any of the issues we raised. Despite the serious mistake of serving meat to vegetarians, not a single item was removed or discounted from the bill. At that point, we were so off-put that we simply paid and left as quickly as possible.
This was one of the most unprofessional dining experiences we’ve ever had. Golden Dragon Palace showed a complete lack of respect for its customers, and we would strongly advise others — especially those with dietary requirements — to avoid...
Read moreI've been trying out a bunch of Chinese dim sum restaurants around here lately, and honestly — this spot has been the best by far! 🥢✨ Every dish was absolutely on point. The flavors were just right — not too salty, not too bland — everything was seasoned perfectly to bring out the authentic taste. 😋🔥 You can tell they really pay attention to the details.
One thing I absolutely love about this place is the traditional dim sum cart service. 🛒 Instead of ordering from a menu, they push the carts around the restaurant, allowing you to see all the dishes up close before picking exactly what you crave. It's such a fun and authentic experience, and it feels way more satisfying being able to choose with your eyes first! 🥰
The space itself is super spacious, bright, and really clean — it gives you a comfortable, relaxed vibe without feeling cramped at all. 🏮🧹 Perfect for a weekend brunch or a casual family gathering.
And the best part? Considering the general price range in Australia, I'd say their prices are very fair and reasonable. 💸 Definitely feels like you're getting quality without the crazy markup.
If you're looking for delicious, authentic dim sum and a great overall experience, this place needs to be on your list. 10/10 would...
Read moreI made a booking for yum cha about 2-3 weeks ago and had been looking forward to it for some time, as it has been quite hard to get an available table unless booked early. A few days ago, I called to change the number of attendees. They informed me that they were fully booked and couldn't accommodate more people. I said "never mind" on the phone, thinking my original booking was still confirmed. At no time during the call did I mention the word "cancellation’’.
However, on the actual day, we arrived only to realise our booking had been cancelled! This was incredibly embarrassing as we had guests from overseas with us. Not only had we driven for about half an hour to get to the place as we don’t live close by, but it was also the afternoon session, so finding another place for yum cha was impossible.
I believe the issue arose due to a language barrier. The receptionist, whose mother tongue is non-Cantonese (her mother tongue should be Mandarin), attempted to speak Cantonese but misunderstood "never mind" as a cancellation request. This misunderstanding caused significant inconvenience and embarrassment. Management needs to either employ staff with better language skills or ensure proper training to avoid such issues...
