Five years after my initial review, I revisited the establishment (since renamed) in August 2025 prior to a medical appointment.
The sign at the entrance says "table service; please take a seat" (or words to that effect).
That's what I did. I waited for 20 minutes and no one came near me.
So, I gave up. On my way out, I noticed one of the staff was playing on her smart phone. Sure, she was probably conducting "official business". But I wondered if that was really the case!
I believe management has some work to do in the area of customer service.
I stopped for a quick "bite" before attending an appointment at the medical centre in the same building. It was a while since I'd been to Aura and I noticed it seemed to be under a different management. The staff appeared to be trying hard but I picked up some language issues that caused me to get the wrong food. It wasn't a big deal and I didn't complain because what I received was quite OK. The coffee was quite reasonable too. I got the feeling English wasn't the first language for most of the staff present so that may have contributed to my experience. Aura is not a cheap eat place but very convenient for any one attending the Manningham Medical General Practice. Parking can be an issue. Good public transport...
Read moreIf you’re anything like me, a visit to the medical centre is always the one thing I’ll do just about everything to avoid. It’s usually at these places that I feel most anxiety, and apprehension. The thought of a café at such centres, offering an escape from the clinical environment, is so reassuring. More so, knowing there’s somewhere to go and switch off from that stress-filled experience, is nothing short of comforting.
It’s for this reason Aura exists. It was built on the foundations of creating a positive aura in an area commonly associated with life’s challenges.
Aura emulates a vibrant energy field, which is thanks to those who emulate such goodness, such as Steph who manages this refreshing space.
Head chef Ash Jhowry puts a great deal of energy into his menu, and his warm chicken salad left me with some nutritious energy to see me through a busy day. The Grilled fritters are also a must; as is the Toast of Paris; served with passionfruit curd and vanilla bean mascarpone.
Aura is located at the corner of High street/ Manningham Rd, in the Manningham medical centre. Say...

They’re doing a lot of things right here. It’s a nice spot with a lovely light filled outdoor area on the right day. Inside is terrific too. Numerous things stand out here but number one is the service. It’s utterly delightful. Each of the three staff members who attended to us was wonderful. Efficient, friendly, polite and slightly humourous. That to me is pretty much perfect service. The all important coffee and food are excellent too. The coffee was utterly beautiful. Strong, silky and substantive. I had two superbly made long blacks here. I could not fault them. My dish off the all day brekkie menu was a beauty too. It is called the Herbivore and I loved every element, particularly the haloumi, the bacon and the avocado. I loved it. My colleague loved his fish and chips as well.
Bravo. The Aura really delivered for me and would put quite a few more highly fancied venues in the shade. It is highly recommended. ...
