Normally I wouldn’t bother to review a fast food chain like Red Rooster. However today I am deeply disappointed by the service I received at the Doncaster Red Rooster drive-thru, specifically involving the behaviour and conduct of both the staff (young female - I didn’t get her name) and the store manager, Sham.
This afternoon, I visited the drive-thru with my two-year-old son and placed an order consisting of a Chicken Pops kids meal and a Honey BBQ combo meal. I clearly requested that all items be fresh and asked for extra sauce. After receiving the order and driving off, I realised my burger was missing sauce, and the Chicken Pops portion in the kids meal was significantly below the usual amount and definitely not of value. As someone who orders this meal regularly, I can confidently say this was not the standard portion.
I returned via the drive-thru and explained the issue. The staff member insisted the portion was correct, to which I replied it was clearly not. She said she would consult the manager and asked me to wait in the parking bay. After waiting, she returned and informed me that the manager would like me to get out of my car and to come inside the store to talk to him. This was unacceptable — I had a two-year-old toddler in the car, and I had chosen the drive-thru for convenience. I should not have to leave my child and go inside to resolve a simple issue that should have been handled promptly and respectfully at the drive-thru.
Eventually, the manager, Sham, came outside. He was unprofessional, dismissive, and displayed no willingness to resolve the situation properly. He returned inside and then handed me back the meal and walked off while I was still talking to him. I assumed he probably corrected all the issues so I drove off again. I checked both meals and noticed that he only added sauce to the burger but handed me back the same stale and cold kids meal without correcting the issue that I asked to be fixed.
I had to come through the drive-thru for a third time. Sham continued to be rude and argumentative, refusing to acknowledge the issue and insisting the portions were correct. He then attempted to “prove” this by bringing out Chicken Pops in a pouch, which only added to the frustration. At this point, I had been dealing with this situation for nearly 40 minutes and had been in drive-thru 3 times to ask for a simple correction but had only been met with stubbornness.
I requested a refund instead because I had enough dealing with his arrogance, which he provided — but not in full. I was short-changed.
This entire experience was deeply disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. Sham’s behaviour was unprofessional and combative. His unwillingness to listen, failure to resolve a simple issue, and poor communication reflect a serious lack of leadership and customer service skills which a manager should possess to be in that role. He made me feel as if I was in the wrong, wasted my time, made my child wait to eat food and ultimately failed to correct the issue.
I request that this complaint be escalated and that Sham’s conduct be reviewed by senior management, as his approach to customer relations is unacceptable and does not reflect the standards expected from Red Rooster.
All in all, if I could rate this red rooster a 0 - I...
Read moreDODGY- OVERCHARGING CUSTOMERS This is not the first time this has happened to me at this Red Rooster Outlet but I was charged more for my meal than what was displayed/advertised on the drive-thru menu!! This has probably happened to me about 4 times within the past 6-8 months (and I don't purchase from here often), and each time when I question it, the staff will have a reason- public holiday surcharge (which I've never heard of before for fast food outlets), just had a price increase...
Today when I questioned why I was being overcharged, the lady told me that there was a price increase this morning and they hadn't yet changed the prices on the menu. How is this my problem and why should I be paying more than what is advertised on the menu?
I am also skeptical as to whether the reason is actually true or if the manager is trying to scam customers by charging more, refunding the difference and keeping the money? This issue only seems to happen with staff from one specific ethnicity.
I will never support this Red Rooster...
Read moreProbably my first and only time I'll be at this Red Rooster. Arrived after wrapping up a late concert and wanted something quick to go.
Walked in to a bunch of teens behind the counter and in the kitchen shouting and swearing at each other. Seating areas were unclean with trash visibly laying about.
I was taken quite aback by the environment so I opted for ordering online as pick up instead of interacting face-to-face and then just waiting at the tables quietly.
Waited for almost half an hour and still my order was not called, despite being one of only 2 customers inside that time, and not that many cars in the drive through seemingly.
Finally I decided to ask for my order (that's my bad, I should have done that way earlier) and apparently it was done already for a long time, just sitting at their counter. Took it and left asap - the food inside was cool already.
Unfortunately was not a great experience even...
