Grey Shark Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

Got a barramundi, pineapple fritter, veggie burger, potato cakes and chips. The barramundi was super crispy and not dry, it was so soft and flaky, delicious! Also great value as it was huge! The potato cakes were nice and crunchy too, and chips perfectly salted. My partner had a veggie burger and I was really jealous. I had a bite and it was absolutely delicious! The pineapple fritters were also great, sort of like a donut-fitter hybrid. Very happy to have found this fish and chip shop so close to us, and it will be our new local fish and chip place! Also prices are really good for what you get! The prices picture on this page are old prices though, everything has gone up by a few cents, so something to keep in mind if you are going off that picture...

Used to love Grey Shark, was my go to fish and chip joint! Until I received some undercooked calamari in the calamari pack. I now have terrible food poisoning and have been put on strong anti nausea medication because I have been vomiting non stop for the last 12 hours.

My partner and I narrowed down the differences in what we consumed and confirmed it was the calamari, I remember the texture feeling weird but not thinking anything of it.

Not a very good experience. Ordered food (6:37pm) from the car with a 10 minute drive to get there. Was told it would be 15 minutes (fine, 5 minute wait, no stress). Sat there for almost another 45 minutes before we got our food at just before 7:30pm. Another family was in a similar situation who were waiting a long time. People coming in and ordering were in and out quicker. They need more staff and have a dedicated person on each kitchen equipment instead of three people running around mixing it up from taking orders, cooking and handing out the food. I’d give a...
