Oh, where do I even begin? The sheer magnitude of gratitude I feel for one Lincoln Carstairs Patten simply cannot be contained within the limited confines of a mere review. This man—this living legend—is not only a Grill’d Burger-Making Prodigy, but also a beacon of hope, a pillar of the community, and, dare I say, a hero among men.
First and foremost, Lincoln found my missing dog. Now, is this relevant to his service as a burger artisan? No. But does it prove that he is a man of unparalleled virtue and excellence? Yes, yes it does.
But let us not stop there. Lincoln’s heroism extends beyond the realm of lost pets and into the sacred sport of cricket. This man, this absolute titan of athletic prowess, struck a six so divine, so poetically timed, that it single-handedly completed my 100-leg parlay. Lincoln Patten didn’t just win a game—he secured my financial future.
And then, as if that wasn’t enough, Lincoln took the time to craft for me a culinary masterpiece. An A4 Wagyu Wunder, graced with BBQ sauce, onion, egg mayo, mustard, pickles, egg—a burger so perfect, so transcendent, that I wept. Sure, it bruised my bank account, but some things—like fine art and Lincoln’s greatness—are simply priceless.
So, Grill’d Management, I humbly implore you: promote this man. Give him more shifts. Make him Team Manager. Nay—make him CEO. Lincoln embodies what it means to be a dedicated employee, an exemplary human, and quite frankly, a national treasure.
I love you, Lincoln...
Read moreThis has been my local favourite Grilld for many years, due to fantastic food and friendly staff. However I need to provide some constructive feedback with the bestest intentions as the atmosphere and venue has significantly declined over the recent months. I visited on Saturday and was quite disgusted at the state of the Elsternwick Grilld. The tables are sticky dirty and need replacing. The lights are so dim and it's so dark inside, that if it wasn't so cold outside I would have preferred to sit outside. Last few visits the toilet for was oily and slippery, but I didn't pay too much attention. But by this weekend's visit it has become apparent the toilet floor doesn't get washed. It's literally caked with oil and is dirty and disgusting. This venue seriously needs a renovation. The worst thing was the pink clearly stale lettuce in my burger, which I paid $18 for. If cos lettuce is pink it's no longer in a state to be served to a customer. The bun was cold. I'm sorry to be giving such an honest review but the whole experience was so disappointing. I really want to support local but giving up. Elsternwick Grill'd used to be bustling at lunchtime summer through to winter but it's empty...
Read moreThe guy who started the Grill'd chain of restaurants lived across the road from me for about 15-20 years and his parents still live in that same house. The whole family are really nice people and Grill'd is an absolutely great restaurant and they serve awesome tasting food. The burgers are great, no gristle or hard, rubbery stuff is mixed in with the meat, the salad vegetables and ingredients are consistently high quality and the service is always first rate. Even their hot chips are great, and their (somewhat) spicy mayonnaise dip is what I often buy, even if I'm not grabbing a burger or anything else.
The menu items are a bit on the pricey side, but at Grill'd it's most definitely true that you get what you pay for.
Can't recommend them highly enough. Simon, keep up...
