This is a nice old school fish and chipper, the chips are made on site which is a rarity these days (pic below) and the calamari is real. We ordered two Deluxe burgers (the lot + pineapple) and enjoyed them noting the mince had a nice herby flavour, we also had a nice piece of whiting and some potato cakes which were thicker cuts than your average potato cake. I recommend it as the place to go for classic fish, chips and hamburgers in the area and will be our first choice when down in Rosebud.

Good old fashion, high quality fish and chips! Cash only, no card facilities. Service is friendly and fast, I was surprised how quick our order for four people was turned around. No fried fish, only battered, but the fish is good size, fresh and the batter is light. Chips, scallops, calamari were all good. If this place can add fried fish and maybe some salads it would be the icing on the cake. Just lacking some variety, but what they do, they do really well and you won't be disappointed

We went to this place to grab a bite and was served by Anthony who served us with a kind smile. We ordered flake ($11) chips ($6) and calamari rings ($2 each). The food was freshly made and absolutely delicious so much so we went back for more calamari rings. They gave us tartar sauce and freshly cut lemon to go with our food. I recommend this little family owned business to anyone in the area. Note: It is also cash only but so worth to walk to the nearest ATM.

Really wanted to love this place after reading the reviews, the owner was friendly but unfortunately some of the most disappointing fish and chips we've ever had.

Cash only which is a bit annoying as in this day and age, card is widely used and most people I know don't carry cash on them.

The bread to filling ratio for the burgers is out. Either the bread needs to be smaller or there needs to be more filling as it tasted dry due to so much bread and not enough sauce.

The fish and chips were really oily, the batter was very thick and soggy. The whiting is not a fillet (which we weren't notified of before we ordered) and was full of bones. It was also extremely fishy tasting and anyone that's had fresh whiting knows it doesn't have a fishy taste. No lemon or tartare sauce provided as some reviews have said, sauce is all extra $.

Owner was nice (hence 2 stars) but unfortunately we won't be...

The first thing you notice is how spotlessly clean the shop is, then you notice the vintage cash register, potato chipper and signage, which all add a great sense of nostalgia to those of us who grew up knowing what a real fish and chip shop was. The food was honest, fresh and tasty without trying to be 'gourmet', heaven knows how boringly familiar these other over the top burger places/fish and chip shops try to be. Thankfully, there is no concession here for hipster food....The owners have that air of hard working authenticity, masters of their craft, comfortable with their proven business model. Cash Only is fine by me. I can't believe it took me so long to 'discover' this place, despite visiting the peninsula for over 40 years! Will be going back as...

Note it’s cash only, no credit card facilities. Small menu; no grilled fish, only fried, no souvlakis and on the night in question they had no steam dim sums. Now I don’t mind a small, focused menu so long as what is delivered is of high quality. Unfortunately the fish was only slightly bigger than the potato cakes, the potato cakes were the thinnest I’ve ever come across and the bun on the burger was terrible (similar to one of the white hamburger buns you can buy at the supermarket) and the lettuce in it very soggy. To top it off it was more expensive than most fish and chip shops. It’s a shame because I love to support the small businesses but can...
