Really wanted to love this place after reading the reviews, the owner was friendly but unfortunately some of the most disappointing fish and chips we've ever had.
Cash only which is a bit annoying as in this day and age, card is widely used and most people I know don't carry cash on them.
The bread to filling ratio for the burgers is out. Either the bread needs to be smaller or there needs to be more filling as it tasted dry due to so much bread and not enough sauce.
The fish and chips were really oily, the batter was very thick and soggy. The whiting is not a fillet (which we weren't notified of before we ordered) and was full of bones. It was also extremely fishy tasting and anyone that's had fresh whiting knows it doesn't have a fishy taste. No lemon or tartare sauce provided as some reviews have said, sauce is all extra $.

The food was honest, fresh and tasty without trying to be 'gourmet', heaven knows how boringly familiar these other over the top burger places/fish and chip shops try to be. Thankfully, there is no concession here for hipster food....The owners have that air of hard working authenticity, masters of their craft, comfortable with their proven business model. Now I don’t mind a small, focused menu so long as what is delivered is of high quality. Unfortunately the fish was only slightly bigger than the potato cakes, the potato cakes were the thinnest I’ve ever come across and the bun on the burger was terrible (similar to one of the white hamburger buns you can buy at the supermarket) and the lettuce in it very soggy.
