I visited your restaurant this morning and ordered the mushroom omelette. Shortly after starting my meal, I began experiencing the early signs of an allergic reaction - specifically, an itchy mouth and throat. As someone with a known nut allergy, I immediately stopped eating and asked the waiter if the dish contained any nuts.

He went to the kitchen to check and returned to tell me that it did not contain nuts - and also pointed out that the menu didn’t list any nuts in the dish. Of course, I was already aware of that; I never would have ordered it otherwise.

However, there was a red sauce served with the omelette that concerned me. My friend tasted it and suspected it contained nuts. I then re-checked the menu and saw that it was listed as “romesco sauce” - which I looked up and, unsurprisingly, found to typically contain nuts.

I’m deeply disappointed that neither the waiter nor the kitchen staff were aware of this. If I hadn’t trusted my instincts and stopped eating, the reaction could have become far more severe. As it stands, I’m now at home feeling unwell with a stomach ache that could have been avoided.

What’s even more concerning is that the waiter saw I had stopped eating and made no effort to check on me at any point afterward. This lack of care and attention only added to my discomfort and concern.

Food allergies are serious and potentially life-threatening. It’s critical that all staff - both kitchen and floor - are properly trained and fully aware of what’s in each dish. Allergens like nuts must be clearly stated on menus, especially when they’re in sauces or components that aren’t obvious to customers.

I hope this incident prompts a review of your allergen procedures and menu transparency so that others with allergies are not put at...

If I could give negative stars, I would. Dining at Hummsies Kitchen was less of a meal and more of a punishment. From the moment I stepped inside, I had a sinking feeling—and not just because of the limp, sticky floors that hadn’t seen a mop in what looked like months. The decor screams “we gave up halfway,” and unfortunately, so did the food.

I ordered what was described as their “signature dish.” If by “signature” they meant something that tasted like it was microwaved after being found in the back of a freezer from 2019, then yes, mission accomplished. The presentation was comical—like someone dropped the plate, shrugged, and served it anyway. It was as if the chef was actively trying to offend every taste bud in my mouth.

The staff were a whole other disaster. We waited over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged, only to be greeted by someone who looked annoyed we even showed up. No smile, no hello, just an eye roll and a grunt. I’ve had warmer welcomes from vending machines.

Don’t even get me started on the prices. You’d think you were dining at a five-star establishment in Paris the way they charge—except instead of foie gras, you’re getting cold lentils and sadness. I paid $28 for something that tasted like regret and cardboard had a baby.

To top it all off, the bathroom was a horror film. Broken soap dispenser, no toilet paper, and a smell that I’m convinced shortened my life by a few years.

Me and my friend came here today for brunch we ordered the club sandwich and omelette and OMG food was so delicious fresh ingredients lots of flavour massive servings I also had a soy chai latte hands done best chai.

The service was absolutely amazing if your lucky enough to get a beautiful young man called ing as your server you are literally in the best hands his service was impeccable so friendly very accomodating as we had our little ones with us he was such a vibe best service we’ve had in a very long time just a genuinely lovely server with fantastic customer service top tier.

The ambiance of this place was absolutely stunning from the gorgeous newspaper vinyl seats to the lovely decor it was so accomodating and inviting just a beautiful place to be in.
