Schwabs Galley — Restaurant in Melbourne

Bad experience at Schwabs Galley today. I had a great experience when I visited 7 months ago. Today was a different story. The service was not at all warm, the food in the cabinets was nowhere as nice as last time (and less of it) and there were not many customers as you would expect at lunchtime on a Saturday in beautiful weather. I ordered one toasted chicken and salad sandwich (I was told the "salad" was only tomato and spinach - hardly "salad" I would have thought). I went for a walk while I waited and returned 15 minutes later with no sign of my sandwich being ready. The two staff serving were SLOW. Not a fan. We went in on a hot day and were looking to sit inside when we were rudely told that we can't go to the back of the cafe even though there were people there and there were tables free. No hello, no sorry, no explanation - just rudeness. We weren't greeted when we came in either, I guess they were too busy talking to each other. I didn't want to give them my money so didn't order anything, but the others in my party said the coffee was just okay. They really need to learn about customer service - greetings, smiles, explanations and thank you. Definitely will never go...

Sunday morning breaky was on cards. This little quint Cafe was busy not just for coffee but patrons were sitting down for breakfast also.

Coffee was one of the best I have had. Complimented the barista On the same. Nice coffee makes a day great no matter the time.

Avo with scrambled eggs felt like a little rip off for the price but eggs your way were nice. Little surprise was the micro greens that went with it.

Vanilla slice was also great and would recommend.
