The worst experience at a Hungry Jacks restaurant I have ever experienced in my life.
I went through drive through. I was a passenger of a vehicle. Driver asked 2 Whoopers with Cheese. Both minus onions & pickles. Driver confirmed again with cheese. We also had a free fries on the shake & win app. Got to the paying window. Confirmed again Cheese. Yes Yes Yes. Every time. Ok good. We were handed the food, proceeded driving and got on the freeway. I injected insulin. If you must know I’m a type 1 diabetic. We ate the fries and then I opened the burger wrapper and started eating the burger. No cheese. At this point I was angry because no one can follow simple instructions. I checked the 2nd burger and what do you know.. No cheese either and it had BBQ sauce in this one. Seriously?? I asked driver to get off at the next exit and turn back. By this time we just passed the Edgars Road exit so the next exit was Dalton Road. Finally returned and I went into the restaurant and demanded a explanation after confirming 3 times Cheese. They all looked at me like they’d just come down in the last shower! I asked for the manager which I wouldn’t call a manager. I demanded my burgers to be re-made properly AND a full refund on the burgers for my troubles, time wasted and fuel wasted returning.
By this stage I still haven’t eaten anything except a hand full of chips. Remember I took my insulin as we exited the drive through. Manager said sure. No Probs. Went to the cash register and then paused and said he’ll be back. Ok fine. After 3 mins he returns and says “Sorry my manager said if you want the refund you can’t have the food” I was totally shocked. I explained my situation again incase he didn’t understand. “I had to return. I had to get off the freeway and back on to return here. I’m a diabetic. I took insulin and now need to eat. URGENTLY. Give me my money as you are not following procedures” “It’s not the money, it’s the principal” I told him.
Again he said his manager said he’s not allowed. What sort of manager are you I said to the idiot? Then I demanded him to call back the manager and I’ll speak to them. So he did. What sort of “store manager” does this? Wouldn’t you just refund. Say sorry, hope for the customer to return? No. He called his manager. Manager said to me No sorry. Money and NO food or food and NO money. I could NOT believe this. The call is ended.
By this stage I had already started eating my new replaced burger.
My response to this was “Here.. give me my money back and take your food. I don’t want your food and if I leave this restaurant now and I have a car accident due to having a hypoglycaemia attack behind the wheel, YOU will be responsible for your actions taken. YOU will go to jail after a full Police investigation occurs” The store manager quickly handed me my refund and made sure I took the replacement burgers.
I have No words to describe how shocked and appalled I am after the store visit. Will I return to this store? Definitely not. Absolutely disgusting Hungry Jacks...
Read moreThis is my local and I love Hungry Jacks but I am going to have to swear off this location going forward. Service is very slow which is fine on its own but in addition to that, the drive through sucks, they will not even try to serve you to the window and get you to half-park behind someone else's car, sticking out into the lane in the world's smallest waiting bay or go to the carpark next door and use the Red Rooster parking lot which is an unhinged strategy when they could instead just build the place properly. God forbid you do get served at the window, if so, you're in luck, now you are stuck behind 2 other cars in the worlds most pathetic waiting bay. If you go inside it seems pretty dirty in there and you can see their ranking statistics for their drive through on a screen above the window that is timing their service, I think they try to move people away from the window to provide false statistics to HJ corporate about how fast they are serving people. They have found a novel solution to hide their failures and leave the problem unaddressed forever until someone takes a stand and refuses to travel to the adequate carpark of a different restaurant to purchase a fast food hamburger.
BUT the absolute worst part of this location that has made me decide to never go there again in my life is the awful management of salad. Whoever is doing food prep here is obviously too busy to run some lettuce and tomatoes through a machine a couple of times a day, because they seem to be preparing a huge amount of salad at once, leaving it there to sit and stagnate to the point that it literally tastes like sickening rotten garbage. I am at hungry jacks, I will take crappy service, a long wait etc. but if you are repeatedly serving me foods that makes me want to throw up in my mouth that literally has the aroma and taste of decay on it and taking my valuable money, that is where I draw the line. I will not be returning. Some of the staff seem nice and polite, only positive aspect. I still have an aftertaste of rotten vegetables after eating 6 hours ago.
Forgot to mention that you can also look over the counter and see a sign which tells staff that they can't have any free drinks or food lol I find that fun and silly. I think you should give them all the free drinks in the world if it means that they will serve me a meal that doesn't taste like my...
Read moreI have visited this place several times, and I am disappointed with their service. When they get my order wrong, they simply brush it off by saying, "You ordered it." The supervisor needs to receive better training in handling complaints and providing appropriate responses, rather than telling customers to go elsewhere if they are unhappy. It’s a shame because the owner deserves better than this level of service. I don’t think the boss care I was going through the review there is so much 1 star review. Anyone reading these is just 2 km away for the hungry jack tullamaire, I just when there today is so much better the whopper and service. Plus I will report to health safe department these place running on untrained staff and the food is not safe for food hesitate, I work down the road at Sixt car rental, I come here often to order food I feel is just getting out hands, I just don’t want anyone be getting food poisoning from these place, there was one occasion I saw two young kid made Order the meal not even 10 min they start feeling well due food Allergic. They did mention there cant certain things. But wasn’t taken likely, just bush it off.
