Imm Oon Thai Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

My family took me out for my birthday and I have never been treated as disrespectfully as I was at this restaurant. The food was ok but not worth the way the owner treated me. He clearly did not hear my order or mistakenly didn't write it down properly but others on my table can confirm that I asked for a vegetarian meal (whilst pointing at it on the menu mind you) and when they brought me out a meal with meat in it I politely informed the waitress. Not long after the owner confronted me and told me that I did not order a vegetarian meal, when I responded that I did, he just dramatically stormed off. Once my meal finally came out everyone else had finished eating and the waitress just slammed it down on the table while glaring at me... such a weird experience as I literally just came to have a nice meal with my family for my birthday, politely ordered and then got treated like I did something wrong... I've never been treated like that. Definitely won't be going back there again after that and after reading other reviews I can see that this was not the first time the owner has been rude and...

My friend had booked a table for 5 of us, but unfortunately last minute 2 friends could no longer make it. She rang to let them know the situation and that there will only be 3 of us for dinner now.

Our booking was for 7.30pm, they showed us our table which was still set for 5 people even though my friend had rang to say there was only 3 now. After 30 minutes a man finally came over and I thought he was going to take our order. Instead, he scolded us for not letting them know in advance that there were not going to be 5 people ‘as they could have filled the entire table’. We explained the situation and that we did call and he told us that ‘it was not good enough’. Mind you, there was a table for 6 next to us that was empty the entire time we were there. We didn’t end up getting our order taken for close to an hour.

This place is one of our local restaurants and was extremely disappointed to ring and speak with the owner who was so rude he couldn't be bothered taking my mobile number for the takeaway order. I asked him why he was speaking so quick I couldn't get my order in without him speaking over me and his reply, well there is a queue of people waiting for orders and food. I'm sorry but does that excuse his behaviour and rudeness because he is having a busy night and he can't handle the stress? No It most definitely does not. The food has always been immaculate but that one rude conversation has put me off spending money there ever again! I also don't know what happened to my order as he cut me off and hung up on me without taking my number so he will be stuck with a order that no one will be picking up. Take note if you can't handle the stress of taking orders on a busy night at a restaurant don't own or run a restaurant! Or maybe just leave the taking of orders to...
