I really don't want to share my experience I had today at Masala Grill---- but from last two hours since we came back from the restaurant was not able to sleep ---- My wife was still having that bad taste what we experienced at Masala Grill, as we are thinking ----people are just making money without giving anything ----- then i thought i should share my experience ---- We say some review on FB about Masala Grill but nothing was like that -----Me and My wife are Pure Vegetarian( Religiously) so ordered their Masala Bar Veg soup which is their BEST SELLER ( AS PER MENU) ------but we realize that something is not good --- we feel we are eating chicken/fish --- and then my daughter also said yes she is feeling the same as he normally eat chicken,,,,,, we show this to their Manager ( don’t know the name) ,,,, when he say initially he said it might be Mushroom but we were not sure then he took the piece to show to their chef and he also said it is mushroom----- then we tried more pieces then we realize its not true , it can’t be mushroom as we know the taste and also when we were cutting the pieces we can feel that its not Mushroom----- so we left the soup bowl but I took the pieces in the tissue paper and though to check this from somewhere else -----after finishing the dinner when I went to pay the bill on the counter the other Manager(or owner) asked how was the food then I mention to him all my experience and also told him that I took the pieces to check this outside then he asked to show to him ,,,,,,,soon he say the pieces he accept it cant be mushroom ----- he went again to show this to chef and this time chef also accepted it is chicken-------but I am sure this manager was aware what happened before because soon we complaint this initially to first Manager he went and discuss with the Second Manager( or owner) -------
Other thing the food we ordered – Mixed Veg ( Best seller as per their menu) and Kadhai Paneer ------while taking ordered they haven’t asked what the taste ( medium/mild/spicy) we want , as we are with our kids and normally when you go to any Indian restaurant they always asked this ----- the reason for telling this is ---- we are with our kids and kids don’t eat spicy------ only my wife like spicy --- so order as per taste---- and taste was not good for both of the curries---- Specially with Mix Veg ( you should have all sort of veg that’s why it called as Mix Veg) --- mostly 90% was Beans and 10 % others ( one piece of mushroom , few corns, few carrots)……
Then he apologies and said he will give discount ---- originally bill was $60 and after discount it was $36 ---- the point is not for the discount --- point is why they are lying to customer/ what are the check points they are using while serving to customer / are they taking any counter measure not to repeat this mistake/…
So my recommendation is whenever you go to any restaurant --- don’t order much , just order one dish and get some experience if its good then it will bring you to the restaurant , and if its bad then you will not regret because you not spend that...
Read moreThis restaurant was one of my favourites. I used to reserve the rables for our family's special occasions, and I always enjoyed my visits. Until the last time I had to deal with the worst customer service I'd ever encountered. One of the three dishes I ordered was Manchurian gravy. It was cold and very sweet when it came out of the kitchen. We informed the manager/server of the dish, and he returned it to the kitchen. They served us cold and dry Manchurian again after a while. The chef removed the gravy and liberally sprinkled it with black pepper, making it difficult to eat. They didn't even bother to update it to meet our requirements. After only two Manchurian balls, we returned the dish. We were told to order something new by the server, but we just had our other two order dishes and returned without the main course because we were duped. Finally, the server handed us a bill that included the dish "Manchurian," which we had already returned without eating, and he told us that we had no choice but to pay the bill in full because we couldn't do anything else. We settled the bill for the dish we had returned. We called them three or four times to speak with the owner about our experience because we had never been disappointed like this before. However, no one bothered to transfer or return the call. Making a payment on a bill for an item we have not eaten was not as disappointing as the chef tried to dupe us by serving the same sweet Manchurian dish with the gravy reduced and plenty of black pepper sprinkled on top. We pay for what we order, so I believe we have every right to a replacement for any dish that isn't up to par. I was hesitant to write this review because I attempted to speak with the owner but after two weeks, no one has returned my call after I attempted to reach out and give a verbal review. It was a...
Read moreWe were looking for a last minute dinner location locally and remembered a recent review about this place on a foodie group. First impressions as we walked in at 8.30pm was excellent, the restaurant was full to the brim with not a single vacant table.
Luckily we did make a last minute booking so we were seated as soon as a group left.
The menu is comprehensive with the usual North Indian favourites and a few key standouts. They do have a great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
We ordered entree asap with drinks as we realise the wait for mains will be a while due to the crowd.
Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner. Great atmosphere, food was tasty. Cuttlery and crockery were clean. The wait was a little long but it’s expected as they were really busy. Wait staff can be a little better as in friendlier and more attentive but I think they were really under the pump and short-staffed so it was acceptable.
For us the absolute standout dish was the eggplant bharta and Naans and Carrot Halwa. Everything else was really good too with a couple of exceptions.

There are many Indian restaurants out Berwick/Cranbourne /Clyde way but not many are good or consistent. It’s nice to have found this one. Looking forward to returning to Masala Bar...
