YOMG Berwick — Restaurant in Melbourne

I am not sure why they got "ring for service" sign on their window for take away if they get annoyed when people follow their instructions and do so!

As frequent dinner I have been subject to attitude while picking up my order and notice the same with delivery folks for door dash and uber eats when we ring the bell to get staff members attention and get our orders.

Recently I went after the system given time by 15 min. As I arrived I could see a bag behind the window with my name. I followed instructions and "rang bell for service". The lady behind the counter turned around, looked at me and didn't bother. I kept waiting till she came, she opened the door and addressed the man behind me, gave him his order and while shutting the window said "I am sorry I don't have your order"! She didn't even bother to ask for name or order number, she just assumed it. I said this is my order and stated my name, she gave it to me and closed the window and apologised for the wait.

I didn't mind the wait but I did mind the consistent attitude most of the time.

And on top of that the order was fully...

Looks like a nice place... but it's form over function. High ceilings make for a very noisy restaurant. On a hot day it has inadequate air conditioning with the sunlight in the centre of the eating area that cooks you faster than they cook the burgers. Food is okay... nothing special with many other places delivering the same. However the staff are inexperienced and the manager is rude and not interested in customer service as she looks down her nose at you. Tried to order 5 burgers with an inexperienced staff member who could not even get past the first burger. After 5 minutes of frustration the manager stepped in and then proceeded to try and over charge me and continued an order which I had not asked for. So rude she was.. not listening or even interested but wanted to prove her superiority by telling me off. I should have just walked out the door and gone elsewhere. Tables were dirty and mess on floors. But the manager just made the experience so much worse and for her attitude alone I can not recommend this place to anyone. I read many of the reviews and feedback from the owners before going to this place. It is an expensive place. The food is fresh and the staff excellent. But it doesn't seem to know what it is as a place. Cheap food, that you get yourself, in paper wraps with wooden recycled cutlery, sitting on stools for seats with very loud music and a jungle gym for kids is one thing.(so loud I couldnt hear the person sitting opposite me in conversation). But then to have those things at a cost as though it was a upper midend restaurant was so expensive it was jarring. Is it a cheap burger joint or something else?. Mcdonalds are doing the same pushing the premium end with expensive burgers but its not popular. Profitable yes but not popular. I wish this place luck. They deserve to suceed, i just dont know what they are aiming to be. In summary this is not somewhere i would go back to as a regular eating out and my family eat...
