Jade Stream — Restaurant in Melbourne

We were very disappointed with the quality and the taste to some of the dishes we had chosen. The spring rolls, crab claw and the Dim Sims ok but warm. The roast duck came out dried and refried and thrown on a plate we quietly explained to the waitress that this dishes should not have been dished out, she went away and came back explained " that's why you have the sauce there to make it moist"... really!! OMG !! When we rang to make our reservation we had specifically wanting roast duck and advised ok no worries we have. The owners were too afraid to approach us and to apologise or offer to make another dish... 1/10

SPECIAL FRIED RICE disgraceful and an EMBARRASSMENT specs of pork/ham like the size match stick head if that tossed in with peas and prawns thrown on top... 0/10

Secondly the sweet and sour dish is the worst flavour I've tasted the balls came out dark and the batter was not cooked thoroughly. Every dish was overseasoned with msg the chef must've had a bad day or was in a bad mood. Everyone on the table complained how thirsty they were. We bought a lot of drinks from your establishment, I do not apologise for this review but more so a wake up call for his business and be more apologetic and talk to your customers rather than have your staff to do your work .. The food is decent enough and comes out in good time, the problem is the front of house staff.

We received abysmal service today. I understand that we were a large table (10 people) which was why I was patient at first. We made our order and the waitress showed us the printed receipt. One of the orders was wrong, as we had asked for no egg in the vegetarian fried rice but the receipt showed no adjustments. When asked about the mistake, the waitress was defensive and said that we never said that (we did!!! this is how we order at every Chinese restaurant)

Later, our food came out sans one main meal. We started eating but the one main never came until we asked, to which the waitress hurriedly said that they had started it (we suspected they hadn’t considering other tables that came in after us received their food).

Lastly, we asked a passing waitress if we could order more drinks. She asked us if we had ordered (there was food on the table so, yes of course we had) and walked off. Eventually about 10 minutes later she talked to our waitress from before and she came to take our drink order, stone faced. We ended up having to repeat the order 3 times total.

TLDR: Ok food ruined by horrendous...

First time to dine in this restaurant, didn’t expect anything. Just walked pass and wanted a quick lunch. Ordered a salt and pepper bean curb, a chill garlic prawn and a small fried rice. Tried a piece of bean curb, I had to stop and take a picture. The bean curb is so crunchy outside and soft inside, the amount of salt and pepper was on point, not salty like other salt and pepper dishes which is usually too salty. The prawns were big and crunchy with a lot of sliced veggies, but just a bit too sweet for us. The whole meal costed only $50.xx. The most expensive dishes on the menu is just $22. Good portion. Will definitely come back and recommend...
