Kasturi Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

Dont go to this restaurant!!!!! We arrived at 6.30pm with a maximum of 15 diners in the restaurant. The staff hovered straight away and we asked for a few minutes to order. After 5 minutes we ordered an entree and main with rice bread and a salad and requested a couple of drinks which arrived promptly. The Restaurant started to fill but afrer waiting 30 minutes we questioned where our entree was as 3 tables who arrived after we were seated had received meals. Then a main meal arrived which we did not order. We then asked why our entrees had not arrived. After some constenation the waiter returned and said they were delivered to another table. After another 10 minutes our entrees arrived - adequate but nothing special. Our mains arrived about 10 minutes apart. After another 10 minutes we then asked for our salad which was forgot as well. The food was overall OK but nothing special. We will not return especially when the staff said see you again....

👎 SALTY, SALTY, SALTY! FILTHY, DIRTY TOILETS (thought not quite Trainspotting level). AVOID if you have cardiovascular issues or are immunocompromised! I could almost feel my arteries hardening with each bite. Chef ruined what could have been a tasty meal if he wasn't so heavy handed with the bloody salt. What happened in the kitchen? Way too much salt in all of the dishes we ordered - I must have had a week's worth of the daily recommended allowance of sodium here!! Naans were thin like roti.

Plus the toilets were filthy with old splatter under the lid. 💩 They looked like they hadn't been cleaned in god knows how long. Disgusting. I've been to building site dunnies cleaner than this joint.

Would have given this place 3 stars ⭐⭐⭐ if it wasn't for the (not quite Trainspotting level) dunnies.

We have been going here for 10+ years and the food is sensational. Until yesterday l couldn't fault Kastauri. I understand management changed recently and while we we're told the wait for takeaway was 30 mins, it was over an hour with 10+ customers waiting and only 4 people seated in the restaurant. This while annoying l can understand if the new people are learning, however when l asked a waitress instantly became aggressive with raised voice saying "we're doing the best we can ". The interaction escalated when she abusively told me to go somewhere else. A person (maybe the manager) came out and was lovely and couldn't do enough to appease me apologising for the waitresses actions. Not sure how lm feeling today as the experience was a combination of the worst and best customer service. Food was still...
