Schnitz Bayside — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have now eaten at Schnitz Frankston many times over the last few years. A couple of times the chicken has been chewy (and without hesitation I was given a better one when I asked) the other twenty or so times everything has been perfect.

I go to Schnitz because of the taste, and because I am trying to eat healthy. So I always now go for a 'plate'. The salad component is great (sometimes I have ordered two), the chips are the best available on the whole planet, and the chicken is delicious.

Yesterday was the same, but I also couldn't help but to notice something - the staff are fantastic. Everything was about customer service. Although busy, the floor staff related well to me, but also to each other. So I watched a little more. I don't think I have ever watched such a finally tunes well run establishment. And I observed the same in the same in the food preparation area. It is no wonder the place is full of customers. It is just a little sad when i glance across and see so0me customers leaving their salad almost untouched on their plate! They don't know what they are missing out on. Awful, awful, awful experience with ALL of the staff. All of the tables were dirty when we got there, we were ignored the entire time we sat at the table. After ordering 2 meals with drinks , one of the meals came out missing the $4 chips we added onto the meal and neither of the drinks or cutlery were given to us. We told the waitress who continuously walked off on us as we were saying what we were missing and said she will grab it. 10 minutes later we still weren’t given our chips so we asked the other waitress and still nothing. Over 30 minutes later we gave up and spoke to who I’m assuming was one of the owners who made it very difficult to request a refund, complained about the staff and the inconvenience it was to refund us. Took all of my details and now a week later still has not processed the refund. Would not recommend...

Food was delicious as always but we were seated outside as there was no room left inside. Told there were heaters which they couldn’t get the one near us to work, so we moved to be closer to the other one, which they then turned all the way down. When there was a free table inside I asked if we could move and was told the inside tables are saved for bigger parties and not for a party of two, even though we had already ordered. A party of 4 was seated at the empty table, which we were sitting on a table for four also…..Customer service not great. Room for sitting also not great inside and freezing outside in the mall.
