No idea how this place gets such a high rating at all, will NEVER COME BACK and for a small eatery in the heart of the suburbs where a lot of families live, extremely poor service and way overpriced.
Was here with my mum for a quick lunch, we ordered the seafood dumplings ($19 for 4pce) and wonton noodle soup ($25), which both were priced high but thought it would be something special perhaps given the high reviews. My mum asked for a small bowl so that we could share a small bite and try, the manager refused, she pointed out they have it on their menu that they don’t provide separate bowls. Which I said, “so essentially you don’t allow people to share meals” she replied yes and just stood there.
None the less, we ordered so we will give it a try. Dumplings came out, was quite tasty and interesting, the fillings were fresh and sauce tasted great 8/10. Wonton Noodles came out, and this was no different to what you get at a local food court. The bbq pork pieces were tasteless and old, the dumplings were ok, the filling was flavourful, but the soup and noodles are basic and absolutely no depth. No chilli oil, no condiments, not authentic at all. 4/10
Entire time left in attended whilst she chatted away with a friend and there was absolutely no one else in the shop.
The funniest part is, when we were paying, we asked if there is a surcharge by credit card, the manager said it isn’t us that are charging you, it’s the payment companies that do. A “Yes it’s xx%” would have been sufficient, not sure why you trying to explain the full context. It certainly didn’t make the food or experience any better.
Will NEVER come here again, just a terrible experience when you’re trying to support local business, the arrogance and rudeness of the management. If you don’t want business just say so, don’t...
Read moreYes, the place is fantastic, but let me be clear: This is not just a hidden gem, but a hidden treasure chest.
Linh and Darren have created an oasis in the middle of Strathmore, and as you walk in, the ambient sounds guide you through the beautifully decorated venue, until you find yourself experiencing their interpretation of what gastronomical class is.
How could anyone make such an articulated description of what southeast Asian flavours can produce when combined, without letting binging sessions destroy the enjoyment with physical pain or mental fatigue?
We have become fans of this place due to its food quality, customer service, and frankly I've become an admirer of what a well managed venue can create. Allow me to explain an average night here for us:
We start with pork belly sliders presented inside a delightfully crunchy-yet-spongy charcoal bao bun, and this is a detail that can be seen in different forms across all their dishes. The attention to detail and quality pursuit are palpable in every bite.
We often follow with either another slider and/or straight to the point with their unique fried rice that is quite possibly the epitome of perfection for such a simple dish.
Then Singaporean noodles as a main dish, which could well be called "what any other restaurant aims to deliver when asked for Singaporean noodles". And I can't recommend this one enough.
And we end the night on a high note with ricotta donuts that melt upon contact with your palate.
So, do yourselves a huge favour and go check this venue out and ask for the backyard, but ensure you make a booking as it gets ridiculously busy.
Yes, even in the middle of Strathmore....
Read moreI FRICKEN LOVE IT HERE!!!! Honestly, this place blew me away from the moment we walked in. The food is absolutely outstanding—flavours like I’ve never experienced before. Every dish we ordered pork gyoza came out perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. You can tell they really care about the quality of what they serve, and it shows in every bite.
The staff deserve a special mention too. They are so warm, welcoming, and accommodating. I had four different requests with my dinner (which I know can be a hassle at some places), but the team handled it without hesitation. Even the younger staff members both a young man and younger girl in particular were polite, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. It’s rare to see service like that these days, and it honestly made the whole experience even better.
We were walk-ins on a really busy night, so I wasn’t expecting to get a table, but somehow they managed to fit us in. That alone impressed me, because most places would have just turned us away. Instead, they made it feel like we were genuinely welcome.
The setup of the venue is fantastic too. There are comfy booths for families, large tables that are perfect for groups, outdoor seating with heating for chilly nights, and to top it all off, a hidden matching bar to enjoy afterwards. It’s such a well-thought-out space that works for literally any occasion—family dinner, date night, drinks with friends, you name it.
Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing food, incredible staff, and such a great vibe all around. This is definitely one of those places you leave already planning...
