We normally eat at another pub venue but tried the King's Creek for Saturday lunch for a change. The atmosphere is relaxed and there was plenty of room in a fairly large and well laid out dining area. I had a chicken schnitty and my wife had the roast beef. The schnitzel was good and typical of pub fare with chips and salad. I liked the salad as it was simple, fresh and the dressing was just right. My wife's roast beef was beyond exceptional. The serving of slow cooked beef was very generous and was sliced into thick pieces that were unbelievably tender. It was accompanied by roast spuds, and every conceivable veg plus a proper Yorkshire pud. The staff were very friendly, polite but not in your face and it was obvious they enjoyed working here. The entire lunch was so enjoyable that we went back for Sunday lunch again today. I had the calamari and it was the real deal, full on, proper calamari. So many pubs nowadays use the mashed and stamped calamari and it was refreshing to have it crumbed and fried like it was in the 'old days'. Today my wife had the Parma and instead of the chips she requested vegies as well as the salad. It was no problem for the kitchen and they were happy to oblige. She did her best but we had to bring some home in a doggie bag. All in all it was a lovely meal and the roasts and calamari was a standout. It was first class pub food served by lovely people in a very relaxed environment. The King's Creek will now be my 'local'

Even though this place is far from the city, its definitely worth the travel. The food here is great, and there's wide variety of food choices for everyone including kids. The staffs were friendly and showed good customer service. They have playroom with slides for kids, pool tables where we usually spend most of our time there and more. They also have outdoor seating which is good if you like watching people. The space inside is huge and not crowded with chairs and tables, there's booth seating that can accommodate more than 5 customers. King's Creek is a great place for friends and family to eat, drink and relax for the weekday work. I reckon it would be good for birthday dinner especially when there's kids with you because their food is great, there's beer etc plus kids will surely enjoy the playroom. This is absolutely one of the best pubs in Melbourne so far that I've been to, they never disappointed us whenever we are there, they are consistently great with their service, and I highly recommend this place to everybody. You'll never get disappointed with their service and food. So if there's a place in the peninsula that one wants to go, King's Creek would be perfect.

Last night my boyfriend and I were quite tired and hungry coming home from the city, by the time we decided to get dinner it was about 8pm and we stumbled along kings creek Hotel and decided to give it a try! We walked in and the feel of the hotel was a very quiet and country styled hotel, all staff were really friendly, especially the girl with the blue hair she was very helpful and such a lovely server! There were the perfect amount of options on the menu.. and such good milkshakes might I add! The meals came out super super fast, I’m not sure if that was because it was quiet or not! But the meals were absolutely gorgeous I ordered the calamari it tasted so good with the fresh salad and tasty tartare sauce (which tasted homemade) my boyfriend ordered the ā€˜smash burger’ which he definitely smashed!! It looked super delicious! The kitchen closes at 9pm which is perfect for last minute decisions. And a perfect restaurant for a family night out with a massive arcade and playground for the kids to!! We will Definitely be back!

Very poor service. We made a booking for a Thursday night and arrived on time. We were seated okay and after deciding what we were going to eat - I went up to order while my husband bought our drinks. There was no one else in the queue and as I was about to order I was told they weren't taking any more orders for 30 mins as there was a bank up of orders for the kitchen. I was completely blown away as we have never encountered this before and we eat out quite often. I went back to the table just as my husband was returning with drinks and explained the situation and we both said that if we hadn't already got a drink we would have walked out there and then. But we decided to have our drinks and wait. About 15 mins after my attempt to order, another couple walked in from having a drink outside and walked straight up to the ordering register and their order was taken. With this my husband decided that they must be now taking orders and went up again - only to be told they still weren't taking any orders for another half hour!!! My husband queried the previous people's order placement and was told they could only take that one and we still had to wait. As you could imagine - this was the last straw and we immediately walked out only to be followed by the same lovely lady that had seated us and she queried if there was anything wrong? We explained the situation and she was shocked and even commented that we had booked and apologised but we had had enough and will never go back - which is a pity as we like the food and atmosphere when we used to visit. We would have preferred the staff took our order and then say there was a delay - than to not even...

Recently went to this hell hole for a meal with 6 friends. Not one meal come out as ordered. I myself received a chicken schnitzel when i ordered a steak. I reported this to the manager Jess (the rudest person i have ever met) she TOLD me that i was wrong and ordered a schnitzel. She also made me prove on a bank statement that i ordered a steak ( this was proven in the difference in prices) she continued to argue that i had it wrong even tho i was charged for a steak. She eventually went away to get me a steak which after 30 min still did not arrive . I went to get my money back and told her i had not recieved my steak. She continued to tell me that she had questioned her staff and they were a adimate that i ordered a schnitzel even tho they charged me for a steak ( go figure) i then said to this rude excuse for a human being that not once has she offered me an apology for the minstake made and not once has she accepted fault instead continuing her aggressive and bullying tirade even after i had proven to her that her staff had made a mistake. This women should be fire her customer service skills are disgusting her attitude towards customers is no different. She also told me she had a few choice words she would like to say to me. Me the customer who paid for a steak and recieved a piece of cardboard they think is schnitzel...even if i did order the wrong thing they still charged me an extra $12 . On request to speak to her boss her only answer was you can go online and find it yourself. AVOID this place at all cost. JESS...

Last week I ordered the Chicken Kiev which came out very overcooked. I took it back to the kitchen and swapped to the parma (same price) which I thought was a safer option. Less than 60 seconds later the replacement parma arrived at my table. The parma was average. I'm still wondering if it was pre-cooked, or they nicked someone else's meal to keep me happy...

Tonight I had the Caeser salad ($22). The bacon was dry, the croutons very dark and not much egg. No anchovies made it onto my plate, even though I specifically ordered with them. Probably the worst Caeser salad I've had in 5 years.

On both occasions we got free hot drinks after our meals, due to the member rewards kiosk redemption not working. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the food has definitely gone downhill compared with previous years. We've been going once or twice each January for about the last 10 years - I think we'll have to find another family friendly venue for next year.

The interior is quite clean in the eating areas, and the decor is well fitted. The toilets have been improved since last year and are quite nice. Pity the same can't be said for the playground (including the lovely old tram) - my kids have become bored with it (ages 3, 5 and 7). The games arcade is unclean and the games are either designed to consume credits (claw prize games etc) or are so old and decrepit that I'm left wondering if they were all picked up from eBay. Too many shooting games as well, I'd rather some more up to date family friendly games...
