Red Rooster Hastings — Restaurant in Melbourne

ORDER: Two rooster rolls, small chips and a SMALL BOTTLE of solo. DELIVERED: 2 Rooster rolls. Chicken volume was from two wings MAX. Bonus: 2/3 cup of gravy drenced the roll in chicken flavoured flour clag. ..the champion of the filling in volume. Chips: had to dig through the salt to find the chips of various lengths and widths, half of which here burnt and soaked in an odd vegetable oil - no idea what half tasted like as the black/brown coating stained my fingers. Other chips were ok - but were "sadly warm" from their experience with their battle-scared friends. DRINK: got a CAN of Solo. Asked for it to be replaced with a small bottle. Got a ONE straw handed to me (my wife was with me - clearly challenged). I CHOSE LIFE, AND LEFT...the waitress has disappeared in a flash anyway.

I thought the other chicken take away across the road was slow and stressed...maybe they share staff.

Over $20 for the experience.

DIY next time; and cheaper. $10 for a roast chook at Coles (enough for 6 over filled rolls), a plastic knife and 6 large soft/fresh rolls.

So I visited Sat 26th Sept after 11am & I get no response from staff so I drive thru & see a note that looked like a 5 yo child wrote as not only small but barely saw the 11:30 time changed from 11am. I pull over in side bay, watched a female staff member arrive & @ 11:30am trying again to which I'm told would now be @ 12pm as they had to wait for maintenance. Now both these staff saw me parked there for over 20 minutes & couldn't come to tell me of the drama & time change!!! I also suggested having a notice on the board as well as on their w/site as I would have visited later yet was told w/site no but board yes.

Why is courtesy & common sense lacking in this day & age??!! I wonder if it has to do with lack of training??!! Sadly it's not the 1st time I've encountered bad staff...

Well l went in store tonight. So disappointed. Asking for the chicken on the current add with the lady hiding in the cupboard. Response, no idea l dont watch TV. He asked and is told what it is. I asked him to show me on the board. Response, it's not up yet. But then he points to the board. I asked for 2. All good. But while waiting, an older woman comes from drive threw service. On her mobile, rubs hands on pants, uses her jumper as gloves to pull put racking to check chicken, mobile back out , in back pocket, hands scratching at her hair. I'm sorry but what the hell happened to washing your fricken hands. If they are working they don't need to be on bloody mobiles especially working around food. No masks either. I...
