We drove around and found Morgan’s for dinner. Given the current conditions and bookings needed the staff were great getting us four in on a walk in. Staff were friendly, welcoming and funny with a great understanding of the menu and wine list. Venue is beautiful and even at night the outside area is gorgeous. The menu is extensive pretty much catering for every food type. We ordered the tuna carpaccio, the seafood pie for two, the linguine bolognaise and the kids cheese burger. The tuna carpaccio was beautifully presented ans just refreshing and delicious. Make sure you have all of the elements together and it’s a beautiful match of textures, flavours and balance. The kids enjoyed their linguine and cheese burger (very big for the regular kid / teen) but tasty non the less. The pie for two was delicious packed full of seafood with a light but rich sauce, served with additional sauce and a beautiful creamy mash. Matched all this with the local rosé and it was a delightful night. The only down about the whole meal was the price. Although good food it’s quite pricey for standard meals (i.e. $55 for a steak, $30 for half a dozen fresh oysters). But there are some items for everyone at reasonable prices. We will be back though as we want to try the goat cheese tortellini and the ocean trout and maybe those oysters regardless… thanks team.

In a few words: Poor service ruins the good food. We came down here for Mother's Day and the site is certainly beautiful and has a bright and airy ambience. we were seated and then waited 15 minutes to even receive water. When we finally caught a waiter passing by and asked if we could order he said "sure" and then took another 2 minutes messing around on his gadget. We then waited another 35 mins for our food to arrive - we asked 1 waitress if the food was far away and she said tersley that she would check and we never saw her again. And the restaurant was only half full! The food was good, although the burger did need to be drained somewhat. The tourist trade should keep this place afloat.

Great location, good environment, and food is OK (slightly overpriced). The reason I give 2 stars is just for the location and the seafood linguini (yummy and fresh). Bad service and atmosphere: People here don’t know how to smile though including the staff and most of the customers. No sign at the entrance says that we need to wait to be seated, and no one there to take us to find a seat. But when we tried to order food, the bartender asked us for a table number 🤷🏻‍♀️. The linguini is very nice, but I wasn’t given a spoon and a pot for the shells 🤷🏻‍♀️ The chicken burger is alright, for its quality, it’s way overpriced. Won’t come back again.

Hi Koonya Hotel

We travelled down from Melbourne to beautiful Sorrento and dined at Koonya last night, 10 March.

When we arrived the service from the start wasn’t great, there was a long line up to the bar with drinks and food being served from the same line.

We were told that the food would take a while to come out. We ordered calamari, tacos and the mussels.

While we waited for the food we ordered drinks from the other bar where the line was shorter than the main restaurant. Despite having a long line of paying guests waiting to order, the barman would stop and chat to, and pour beers for others that sat around the bar, rather than waiting until he had served the paying customers who had been waiting in line.

When the food had taken more than an hour Alicia offered for us to cancel the order but said it would come out in the next half an hour so we stayed. She also offered us a drink for the wait. We could see she was run off her feet and doing the best she could with the many complaining customers.

When our meals arrived they were really underwhelming. One meal was incorrect but this was quickly replaced with what we had ordered. The mussels were undercooked and half didn’t open. We let Alicia know and she brought out a replacement but this wasn’t much better. The taco shells were chewy and the calamari was undercooked. It’s really disappointing paying premium prices for what we expect to be good food, waiting for good food and this very much not being what we receive.

We put money aside each week until we can afford to go out for meals like this. We were so much looking forward to a night out. We don’t regularly get the time without children and we were really disappointed by the experience at the...

DONT COME HERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME

Im not one to write complaints but what i experienced here was horrible, the food was overpriced for the quantity AND quality given as well as the servers rude behaviour to a MINOR when i inquired about my food. On one section of the menu, "to share", was calamari that MOST of the table had ordered, the food came and the food size was not "to share", it was more like a kids size meal/entrè. This isn't just about calamari but the whole experience itself, this is just a small part of the whole problem.

I had asked if the Calamari was indeed on the section "to share" and why the quantity was so small if it was SUPPOSEDLY "to share" and the OLDER male SERVER responded to a 17 YEAR OLD with "yeah and?"!!! i then again proceeded to ask again why it was so expensive if it was so small? for frozen packaged calamari?? only for the older male server to start walking away while responding in a rude tone with "its quality over quantity, you can talk to the manager if you like". How can a server talk to a paying customer like THAT?? as well as the customer being underage with family around?! Mind you the quality of this calamari was not all that different from other places. the only difference was the price being too much. When leaving, a waitress asked how the food was and i honestly told her the quantity was too small for the price it was at. she said "ill tell the kitchen". when all of us were almost out the door she told, what seemed like the manager, that we didn't like our experience only for him to respond with "oh well, i don't care." take what you will from this review, i...

WORST experience i have ever had at a restaurant. Walked in and nobody would serve us. Walked to the bar and asked where our table was and they shooed us to the "host desk" away after we mentioned we had a booking. After waiting nearly 10 minutes at the host desk, we waved down a staff member to seat us and they said just pick a table. They then did not give us any menus and did not serve us for another 10 minutes. This staff member then approached the table and talked about our clothes and mentioned that he would like my hat and my partner and my friends girlfriend also. He then mentioned that he had stuff that he could give us that would make the girls "forget the whole night". But then walked away and said he couldn't serve us but the other girl would. We waited another 20 minutes and nobody served us, so we decided we would go back to the bar to ask who was going to serve us and the "host" mentioned it was the first he was hearing about it, and it was "bar" service only. Why are their own staff unsure whether it is table service or bar service? For a main meal of $49.50 you would expect to have table service, especially if you're asking for 20% surcharge on public holidays. It's absolutely abysmal that they wasted our time and I would not recommend this business to anyone. $24.50 for a salad WITHOUT protein, +$14.50 for chicken is absolutely ridiculous... 40 bucks for a salad? +20% surcharge? Nobody go here. Please. For...
