A Hidden Gem of Authentic French Delights
During our stay in Melbourne, La Parisienne Pâtés became our go-to place for a taste of traditional French cuisine. Tucked away in South Yarra, this beautiful bakery and café captured our hearts with its authentic charm. From the moment we stepped in, Juliet, the daughter of the family who owns the business, warmly welcomed us. Stéphane, Muriel, and the entire staff exuded professionalism while treating us like beloved family members. Their genuine hospitality made each visit memorable. Although I'm not typically drawn to desserts, the temptation to indulge was irresistible at La Parisienne Pâtés. Every bite left us delighted, as the quality and variety of their offerings were simply exceptional. Whether your preference lies in sweet or savory treats, their wide selection caters to all tastes. And let's not forget their coffee—oh, what a treat! Their aromatic brew is an absolute must-try, perfectly complementing the delightful pastries and culinary creations. Each sip was a moment of pure bliss. La Parisienne Pâtés effortlessly captures the essence of French culinary traditions. The attention to detail and commitment to quality shine through in every aspect of their offerings. It's evident that this family-owned gem pours their heart and soul into their craft. To Stéphane, Muriel, Juliet, and the entire La Parisienne Pâtés team, we miss you dearly and eagerly anticipate our next visit. For anyone seeking an authentic taste of France, we wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem. Thank you for the delightful experiences and creating a piece of France in Melbourne. We can't wait to...
Read moreIt’s a VERY BAD experience in this cafe. First, I ordered a glass of coffee latte and the glass had a dirty mark in it. Also, the latte milk foam was very thick and overflowed. So I told the waitress that the glass is dirty!!! But she told me it is not a dirty mark, it is a shot. So I asked for change another new coffee for me, the waitress was really rude and impatient even no apology. Unless the waitress gave me a new coffee. BUT the second coffee was still terrible. I asked another waitress, how many shots did you put in a regular latte ? She said one shot. I said a shot can’t be more than 30ml in the regular glass. But She was still arguing with me that it was a trace of shot. The coffee had thicker milk foam, no coffee aroma and burnt bitter. The shot must be old and has been put on for a long time, and it’s very dim. I was very disappointed. They didn’t feel they were wrong and didn’t apologise. How can the cafe can sell this kind of bad quality coffee for customers? Terrible coffee and hopeless service. Never never come...
Read moreFunctioning as a cafe and deli, there are cheeses, smallgoods, pates, condiments, and other French goods. In addition to breads, there's pastries of the sweet and savoury variety to tantalise the senses. Quiches, baguettes and other items can be enjoyed in the cafe. I got a chocolate eclair, strawberry cheesecake, and duck pie.
The strawberry cheesecake is delicious, quite dense and cheesy with a lovely strawberry flavour.
The chocolate eclairs presents a lovely light choux pastry. The chocolate filling is mousse like, quite rich.
The duck pie has a lovely buttery pastry encasing a generous duck filling but is a little sour which detracts from the flavour, despite the duck being a little gamey. Tasty...
