Lemongrass chilli prawns - best I've ever tasted. Sweet, silky, golden crunch.
Gado-gado - good, not great, BUT the honourable mention goes to the techniques - egg was perfect, not rubbery, it was fresh. Beans & Broccoli, crisp, blanched perfectly. Satay - flavourful. The cons - too much lettuce and not enough sauce (bearing in mind I at all this myself?
Battered Barramundi with ginger sauce. Here's the big ticks. Barra - no hint of "dirt" that usually comes from imported frozen Barra or Cone bay/Humptydoo farmed (pending on the waters etc) The kitchen knows how to handle a good product, the fish was perfect, flaked without falling apart, cooked evenly. The sauce (#techniqueboom ) - carrots, onion and celery (standard "Asian restaurant" inclusions) handled with skill. No burnt oil smell, nobody in the kitchen tried to claim insurance and burn the place down. The veg was sauteed, crisp and full of flavour and it completely made the dish.
Great food deserves being talked up and about. This place deserves being talked up and then some! The owner and service is amazing. The place feels like you could settle in for hours and just eat, drink and appreciate life for what it's meant to...
Read moreJust found out that they can’t handle larger groups - we were about 20 people. The waitress took the orders and food was mixed up. More over brought the food that was never ordered (imagine if we ordered pad Thai with chicken and they bring seafood fried rice and forcing us to take it or pay for it). The lady in charge was subtly rude and started to raise her voice / break down for pointing out their mistakes gently (don’t know what pressure she had inside the kitchen and she was mentioning about being under staffed). Made us look very bad and feel guilty for no mistake of ours. End of the day, we had to pay for all the food irrespective of what we ordered and what they delivered. It was unacceptable way of treating your customers by making them feel guilty for your mistakes. How hard is it to list the name of the person and write down what he/she is ordering including the protein they want. Very disorganised and we are shouted at for suggesting to get their act right. Would never visit this place and would not advise you to visit the place if you are a...
Read moreI never leave bad reviews, this is my first but if you are planning on ordering online please hear my experience. I love Thai food and Im not hard to impress.
There used to be another Thai restaurant at this location that was fantastic so i thought i'd try this place and all the reviews are so positive. The curry was basically green water, that tasted like metal from all the canned vegetables. The creamy Pad satay was also basically a lightly peanut flavoured brown water. The only thing we ate was the "coconut" rice which was just steamed rice, no coconut flavour or texture at all.
Perhaps in store the food tastes better, but I wont order from this place again. I don't know how anyone would be impressed or even compare this to any kind of...
