It was a rainy day so the park and cafe were both pretty quiet. The cafe was warm and looked like it might serve the best food in the park as the other options were all pretty dismal. Firstly they messed up our order charging and providing us with more food than we ordered. The food all came out in little styrofoam containers which were hard to use a knife and fork in and part way through a couple of mouthfuls of my quiche and salad, distracted trying to feed a baby, I realised...hang on...is this quiche supposed to be cold or hot because it's not really either! Horrified I took it back and asked and was told it was supposed to be hot and they would make me another one. Despite an almost dead cafe no replacement meal was made without again having to ask. Meal was finally brought out but in the same packaging with no salad or relish topped up to go with the quiche so again we had to return to the counter for a 4th time! Low and behold I got diarrhea that I strongly suspect was from eating at this cafe! What are they doing behind that counter that they are not...
Read moreAfter being at the zoo my baby started crying I came in to get 125mls of cold milk. The man at the register said of course charged me $3.00 and said just ask the barista and he will get it for you. I popped over to ask and he said rudely i’m busy you can wait. I then stood there for 12minutes whilst my baby screamed outside whilst he ignored me then finally he poured the milk into the bottle taking him 10seconds. It absolutely ruined our day made it so stressful we decided not to stay and eat but go home. 10seconds of work would have saved the situation but he wanted to make a point that he was in control or didn’t care about our situation. I understand if I wanted coffees ect but I needed just 125mls of cold milk in my bottle and instead of using common sense or having empathy he made me wait whilst our son lost it outside for 12minutes (This is a long time for a baby to scream). The zoo is family friendly it’s hard getting out with little ones maybe this person is not cut out for this environment. Very...
Read moreVery disappointing, the food is mostly Asian cusine. We ended up getting hot chips but these weren't Aussie either, they had something similar to a dukkah on them but most of that was at the bottom of the bowl, with truffle mayo. It was nice but we couldn't even get tomato sauce. It wasn't open for breakfast which was also very dissapointing. Even at the elephant cafe it was all Asian food, hubby was after a sausage roll but it was all springrolls, chicken wings...etc we asked what Aussie food do you have and she said hot chips...l know we are a multicultural country but fair crack of the whip, whats wrong with pies, sausage rolls....good bye Aussie cuisine gone... We are zoo members so we will be back but with our own picnic/food. Also had coffee at giraffe cafe, l requested extra hot, even though it was not busy first thing in the morn, my coffee was just warm YUCK I loathe warm milk,...
