Haven't been in the Carlton shop for a few years until recently and was looking forward to getting in there and updating/adding to the current collection I have. I was on crutches on this occasion due to a lower leg amputation. My excitement of being there after so long was awesome until I approached the entry point and was confronted by an A-frame advertising board in the doorway which looked to be used for the sole purpose of allowing fresh air to get in. This worried me greatly because the gap that remained for people to get in and out was minimal and dangerous even for a person with both legs let alone a person who's disabled. My excitement quickly turned into a stressful situation and I was extremely disappointed to find there weren't any better options available to my beloved football team for their supports. I simple door stop would've achieved the same result and minimised the risk of injury. I don't want my AFL club to be known as a club who doesn't care about the welfare of people who attend their premises, especially the disabled who want to feel welcomed. Hope this review results in the appropriate action being taken to resolve this matter and minimise the chance that similar issues don't arise in future. Thanks...
Read morePrinces Park is a delight. It has a great running track, well maintained green areas, a popular picnic area by the small lake at the northern end, two sizeable dog off-the-lead zones, playground, tennis courts, bowling club, and the footy ground. Walking paths criss-cross at a number of points. The ovals are well utilised by sporting teams. Safety has been improved recently, with perimeter lighting. Several public amenities (toilets) are available, and there are many...
Read moreWe attended the women's Richmond vs Carlton game. There was a bag check outside. There were no labelled areas, so I had to inform a later arrival that we were three rows from the front, to the right of something & near something else. I used a nearby women's toilet that had no steps. It was clean, functional. I found I had to twist around to see time left & lean forward to see the screen. It was welcoming (no admission fee), laidback & a great place for...
