An absolute joke of a business. This is the third time my partner and I have placed an order here, hoping for a better result. This was unfortunately not the case.
I ordered one malai kofta and two garlic naans over the phone at 5:14pm and was assured by a lady (perhaps the manager) that it would be ready in 20 minutes. We've been given this time frame before, but had to wait much longer after arriving at the restaurant. I arrived at the completely empty restaurant at 5:50pm (which, in my opinion, is plenty of time to prepare a single curry).
I was greeted by someone who appeared to have just woken up or had recently inhaled a large amount of indica. I was told that it would be ready in 5 minutes. I'm not sure why such a small order would take so long. It was well past the timeframe I was given, and the restaurant had no customers to serve.
15 minutes later, I'm still waiting and becoming frustrated. What's the hold-up? Not even any background music to help with the wait. Complete silence.
When the container arrived, I questioned if it was my order before it was sealed. Surely not, as the container was practically empty, with only one measly kofta ball resembling a stool sample. They argued that this was standard sizing. Anyone with a rational mind would recognise that this is not a regular size for a curry that’s costing $20.00.
I called the number I had originally called to place the order, and the lady answered while she was clearly driving. After hearing a bunch of ruffling around over the phone, I finally got her attention and told her what was going on. Unfortunately I paid on arrival, so I immediately requested a refund, which I’m currently waiting to hit my bank account.
Terrible service. Shocking food, and portions that are laughable. A complete disaster that leaves you wondering how people operate a business. Barkley Square side of Sydney Road is in dire need of a GOOD Indian restaurant! Save your time and money by...

Paani poori (gol gappay) BBQ Platter Savour Pulao Chicken Handi
Gol Gappay were truly amazing and the best we have ever had in melbourne. Spicy, sour, and sweet. The true mix that you can wish for.
BBQ Platter:
Initially it seemed good looked like it will be served hot as the smoke was coming out of the platter. When it arrived, the chicken boti, malai boti were at room temperature and bland. However, reshmi kebab were good in taste.
The smoke was more like a piece of coal added below it for aesthetic purpose only. It was a disappointment tor us because it over powered mod section of the kebabs with too much smoke. In addition to this, it got more smoky and there was no venting method that could pull the smoke from the coal out.
Savour Pulao.
It was a bit of disappointment in taste. The garam masala was way too over powering in the rice. The shaami tikki was bland for me.
Chicken Handi:
We packed it up and ate at home the next day. It was good in taste and the portion size of chicken was good as well.
Overall, the atmosphere of the restaurant was not so good. There was too much hustle and bustle of staff i.e., walking up and down. (I understand it might be rush hour at 6pm on a sat) , but due to the gap between tables is less, you couldn’t enjoy your food. In addition to this, if you order a BBQ Platter, the smoke from the coal will mess your...
Read moreI was at this restaurant last night and saw something very concerning. A customer was served expired food, and when he raised the issue, no manager or owner stepped in. Instead, a staff member brushed it off by saying, “we won’t charge you for this,” as if that excused serving unsafe food. The issue wasn’t about money — it was about health and safety.
The owner’s reaction made things worse. She looked directly at the customer, ignored him, and instead started shouting at her staff in front of everyone. Other diners nearby also checked the food and confirmed it was expired. The customer’s order was incomplete, the service was sloppy, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable with the owner abusing her own staff.
What’s even more frustrating is that they are clearly taking advantage of the Pakistani community, hiding behind the label of a “Pakistani restaurant” while selling poor-quality and expired food.
And to top it off — if you try to leave an honest negative review, they will remove it instead of improving their service.
From what I witnessed, this place is unsafe, unprofessional, and shows zero respect...
