A shockingly terrible New Year's Eve dinner experience. The food came very slowly and the service was so unprofessional. The waiter just told me we are SO BUSY when I asked why so slow. Busy is not a reason for us to wait for more than half an hour. We only got 2 ppl, why five dishes took us two hours there. Four of the five dishes were already cold when served. The soup was cold, the noodles were cold, the garlic prawns and the xiao long bao were cold. I really can't understand. If the kitchen is too busy then, shouldn't the new dishes be served ASAP? Unbelievable! As we all know, traditional Peking Duck should have roast duck+steamed pancakes+sauce+spring onion and cucumber. This restaurant served the steamed pancakes, then the duck after 10 minutes, then the sauce and cucumber and spring onion after another 10 minutes. I don’t think eating the steamed pancakes by itself first to pad our stomachs is a good idea. Pricing is inexplicably high. The five-dishes for two people cost about 200 dollars. One thin I want to mentioned is the blacktruffle xiao long bao, we waited it so long but it was not served until last minute. We asked for cancelation but the staff told us it’s ready. I said well then make it take away for me. Finally I got a pack of only five xiao long bao(no juice at all, already cold...

Best place to get Peking duck in Melbourne @moja_melb is a beautiful Chinese restaurant serving authentic and mouthwatering Chinese delicacies including classic Peking duck and their signature dishes.

What we had:

Peking duck, with soup, wraps, salads, sauce, it was just perfect, so crispy and juicy and definitely highly recommended

Crispy roast duck with sweet and sour sauce, the duck was bit dry but the sauce was packed with flavours

Steamed scallops with vermicelli and garlic, it was quite interesting yet very refreshing to eat, must try

Stir fried duck tongue with chilli, it was our favourite here, so spicy and crispy yet immensely addictive, highly recommend this.

Black truffle xiao long bao, it was so delectable and amazing, must try for sure

Sweet potato rice ball Sesame ball with red bean paste

Both of these were equally tasty and sweet.

The drinks winter melon milk tea and lemon tea were equally very refreshing to drink.

The service is impeccable and very quick, whereas all the staff are very welcoming, polite and attentive. The food is of fantastic quality and the price completely justifies the taste and quantity as well. And of course, such a grand vibe here, definitely perfect for celebratory lunch/dinner with your...

Absolutely DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY with the service .

Booked reunion dinner almost a month ahead. Arrived on time, no table setting for 5 and one of us had to sit at the aisle. (We accepted that) was told there’s no happy hour because it’s a busy day for them. Really a joke! (We accepted this too)

Waited for an hour after realising the tables that came after us had been served. Asked them twice and was told the food is coming. Waited for another 20mins again. Lady taking order asked us to repeat our order. Who would not be fuming by this time? You will have to be a saint.

Seeing that it’s essential to remain calm and “not be angry” since it’s the most auspicious and important meal. We repeated our order. Upon repeating our order she told us the duck is FINISH. You never said so almost 1.5 hour ago. That was our last straw. If the duck was still available , we might have stayed for another 20mins for the food.

The business WILL NOT be able to survive!

Not acceptable. Unrealiable. Servers don’t understand English. Can’t run a business.

We have been patient and kind. But I did have to “scream” in mandarin to get my voice heard.

We ended up in Parrot Restaurant in Flemington. Good service . Good Food. And luckily we are still...

Tucked away near UniMelb in Parkville, this spot has always been my go-to for Peking duck — crispy skin, tender meat, and the softest pancakes to wrap with scallions, cucumber, and sauce. Absolute bliss in one bite. The full duck comes with two styles of serving and a comforting duck soup to finish. What’s even better this time? A crazy good deal: just add $9.90 when ordering duck and enjoy unlimited red wine, white wine, and Moscato. The wine quality is seriously impressive — not cheap stuff, and super smooth. Even those who don’t usually drink will fall in love! They’ve also rolled out some exciting new dishes: 🍖 28-second stir-fried beef — ultra tender, tossed with fragrant coriander and chili. Perfect with rice. 🔥 Charcoal-grilled pork neck — slightly Vietnamese-style with lemongrass notes, smoky and addictive. 🐟 Crispy spicy yellow croaker — my absolute favourite! Deep-fried until the bones are crispy, super flavourful and satisfying. 🥤 Winter melon milk — light, refreshing, and great for balancing out the spices. Overall, a perfect spot for group dinners — satisfying, affordable, and packed with surprises every time. The duck remains king, the new dishes are fire, and the $9.90 wine free-flow? Unbeatable.

On our last night in Melbourne, we randomly chose this restaurant and were utterly amazed by the efficiency of the staff. There was only one Taiwanese gentleman working at the time, and he managed everything perfectly all by himself - greeting and seating guests, guiding customers through the QR code ordering system, answering questions, serving food, coordinating takeaway orders for delivery drivers, cleaning and resetting tables, and handling payments. Even as the restaurant got busier, he remained incredibly efficient and swift, ensuring no one had to wait long. We initially worried that the food might take a while due to what seemed like understaffing, but it wasn’t the case at all. The dishes came out promptly, and they were delicious—the roasted duck was an absolute hit with our kids. My younger son accidentally spilled his bowl of rice. The staff was extremely patient and kind even though he is already very busy and we’ve added more work to him. He quickly cleaned up the mess and brought us a new bowl of rice without any extra charge. This experience left us with a wonderful impression of the restaurant and Melbourne as a whole. We will definitely return on our next visit to the city.
