The «Hole-in-the-wall Cafe» format is a very common format in Australia. Capulus & Co is a fabulous example here in Melbourne. They serve tasty coffee, hot chocolate, tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as cookies, pastries, and croissants through a tiny window of a residential house along Sydney Road. There are a handful of tables with chairs on the pavement as well as a little wooden island in the grass surrounded by benches in a u-shape. I was surprised how tiny the space is – literally just a window in front of a tiny kitchen with a coffee machine and a grinder on a bench. Yet, the size has no impact on the quality of the products nor on the service: I enjoyed my «pain au chocolat» with my tasty long black sitting in the sun and enjoying the cold Melbournian summer.

These people sure know how to please their customers. Capulus & Co is a family run stall serving high quality sandwiches, pies, pastries and brewing amazing aromatic coffee. Mortadella, burrata & herb pesto sandwich is a winner in my eyes. All I could smell when driving to a spot to eat was the aromatic herbs and buttery baguette. Mortadella was cooked to perfection. It was so light and heavenly to eat. Such a simple sandwich with flawless execution. Would definitely return to have this again, as well as their other homemade baguette rolls that are made fresh to order. Food: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5

Absolutely love this small coffee shop. The two sisters who usually make my coffee are amazing baristas and always greet me in a really polite way with a lovely smile. The experience is what really matters and the coffee is quite good as well. Happy to say that this is my new favorite cafe for morning and afternoon coffees. I would be even more happy if they could operate in the evening for a few hours, or extend their timings to 5-6 pm.

Been wanting to try this hole in the wall cafe for a while now and finally did today, did not disappoint! Probably the best soy mocha I’ve had in Brunswick. Coffee was creamy and they use good chocolate. I like how casual it is with the seating outside so dogs can hang out too. Very neat spot. Only wish it was closer to me! Definitely coming back to try more coffee and maybe a pastry dish. They looked yum.

A beautiful little spot to sit in the sun. A very small selection of food and cakes. What they do, they do very well. Exceptional quality coffee. Sort of a funny service whereby you order and prepay at the hole in the wall, collect your own coffee, but will have the cooked food table delivered. It's a little quirk but it works and needs to be done that way considering the size of the place.

How adorable is this little hole-in-the-wall coffee store?! At the bottom of Sydney Rd and opposite Princes Park, serving up great coffee and a small simple takeaway menu consisting of assorted pastries, sandwiches and smoothies. Love the European vibe. Always seems to be busy too.
