The Ā«Hole-in-the-wall CafeĀ» format is a very common format in Australia. Capulus & Co is a fabulous example here in Melbourne. They serve tasty coffee, hot chocolate, tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as cookies, pastries, and croissants through a tiny window of a residential house along Sydney Road. There are a handful of tables with chairs on the pavement as well as a little wooden island in the grass surrounded by benches in a u-shape. I was surprised how tiny the space is – literally just a window in front of a tiny kitchen with a coffee machine and a grinder on a bench. Yet, the size has no impact on the quality of the products nor on the service: I enjoyed my Ā«pain au chocolatĀ» with my tasty long black sitting in the sun and enjoying the cold Melbournian summer.

šŸ“Capulus & Co, Brunswick - 3.1 āļø out 5. Somehow this central cafe (genuinely ON Sydney Road) feels like a tucked away little oasis hidden among the trees. We spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out if this shop front is part of a house, with people potentially sitting on the front verandah of the house. We were very intrigued. The coffee was really tasty, and Pippa said the orange juice was INCREDIBLE. There’s a small collection of sandwiches and pastries to choose from and a handful of seats (but not tooo many). It was a bit spenny, especially with the weekend 10% surcharge. Overall 3.1 āļø out of 5.

These people sure know how to please their customers. Capulus & Co is a family run stall serving high quality sandwiches, pies, pastries and brewing amazing aromatic coffee. Mortadella, burrata & herb pesto sandwich is a winner in my eyes. All I could smell when driving to a spot to eat was the aromatic herbs and buttery baguette. Mortadella was cooked to perfection. It was so light and heavenly to eat. Such a simple sandwich with flawless execution. Would definitely return to have this again, as well as their other homemade baguette rolls that are made fresh to order. Food: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5

I don't feel great about writing this as I do like this place it's good a cool vibe and is great for those with dogs and who like sitting outside in the sun. It's a little hole in the wall with no actual inside cafe. The reason for my 2 star review is the extortionate prices of coffee here. I paid 8.75 for a small almond milk coffee with a little extra milk on the side which which enough just to fill up the original cup. Please I hope someone who owns this business reviews this and takes on board my comment as I won't be coming here again and it's a local to me. It's the most expensive coffee I've had in Melbourne. There are so many places around this area to choose from which are more in line with the average of $6 for...
