Le Cafe - Vietnamese restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

Nice little Vietnamese cafe in Carrum Downs. Mainly caters to the commercial businesses in the area and therefore only opens on Monday to Friday. Opens at 7 and closes and 3pm which is why we hadn’t had the opportunity to try the food.

We had the beef pho with beef slices and beef balls, noodles with fried chicken and the bubble tea.

The pho was a generous portion. Plenty of beef slices, beef balls and rice noodles. The fried chicken was awesome, tender and tasty and I’ll definitely have that again next time. The bubble tea was the only thing less than great. The bubble tea was really sweet, I know bubble tea is supposed to be sweet, but this was too sweet.

Staff here are pleasant and efficient. One had offered to assist me by carrying the food out to my car as I had a big take away order.

Overall, a great little spot for Vietnamese food in Carrum Downs, just a shame they don’t open weekends or...

I’ve had multiple bad experiences here, I always intended to give them another go but sadly, there’s been no improvement since my last visit in 2022.

Proceeded to order a Bacon and Egg roll and a small latte, because I saw a “new” coffee machine on the side counter, I did not see one during my last visit.

The time was 850am, no other customers in store nor were there orders coming in via Uber Eats ect. It took them 25 minutes to produce the 2 items, with 3 staff members on duty.

The 25min wait wasn’t even the worst part, I did not see the fore mentioned coffee machine get used for my latte. The latte came out of the kitchen after the bacon and egg roll and it was luke warm. Looks and sounds like they had made the “latte” with freeze dried coffee, hot water and a dash of fresh milk.

Ordered the sliced beef pho from this restaurant. It came in take away containers; one with the noodles and the other with the soup and beef. The beef was all clumped together, indicating that it was frozen and warmed up in the soup. The bean sprouts looked like they were past their use by dates and were placed under the noodles to hide. Quite disappointed as it used to be good. The beef is usually in the container with the noodles, fresh bean sprouts and mint. The soup is in a seperate container.
