Tucked away in the historic Block Arcade, Cafe Le Petit Chateau is a hidden gem that will transport you to a charming French-inspired oasis in the heart of Melbourne. We visited this lovely cafe on a bustling Saturday afternoon and were immediately won over by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff who took the time to explain the menu and make recommendations.
Speaking of the menu, we were spoiled for choice! We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Smashed Avo, Eggs and Bacon, strawberry and cream croissant, Mocha, Affogato, Strawberry Milk Shake, Iced Coffee and the signature Chateau Crepe. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, and the flavors were delightful.
The Affogato was a highlight, with rich, velvety coffee and a generous scoop of creamy ice cream. The Strawberry Milk Shake was refreshing and fruity, while the Iced Coffee was strong and revitalizing.
The Eggs and Bacon were cooked to perfection, and the Smashed Avo was delicious with right amount of feta and pumpkin seeds. But the real showstopper was the Chateau Crepe, which was filled with sweet goodness.
Overall, our experience at Cafe Le Petit Chateau was exceptional. The atmosphere was charming, the service was outstanding, and the food was delicious. We can't wait to return and try more of the menu!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience...

I would only recommend this place as it has a nice decor and atmosphere, a change of environment. Small inside with limited seating but has plenty of seating outside.
If you want to be seated in the main pretty room seats by the window, you would have to be accompanied by 3 other people to be able to be seated (table of 4) as they will not allow a couple of people to sit there. There were a couple of small tables that were right against the fridge in the same room but felt very restricted with space. I tried asking if we could sit by the window and that we would be quick in and out and wanted some photos by the window seat, but was flat-out refused. Even though during our entire stay no one came and used those tables.
It would've made our day, but anyway it's their rule.
It's known for its hot chocolate ☕️ with whipped cream which is quite pricey for the whipped cream alone at $4.50. It was mediocre.
We ordered the Ocean crepe (Smoked Salmon, avocado and cream cheese $25.00 which was also mediocre.
Maybe the other dishes might have tasted better.
I'm only rating it for its decor as it is unique and pretty. If you want to catch up with friends in a pretty environment and try the other drinks...
