The restaurant seems always full during lunch time, but they have many tables to accommodate a lot of people, small or big group. The waiting time is not too long either. You have to order online and very common no phone signal since it’s in basement, but don’t worry, they provide free wifi. Your order won’t be prepared till you paid the order. You can pay by credit card (with surcharge) or by cash (get discount and go to the counter). Your order could be served to you by the servants or by the robot (it shows ur table). It’s cool! Self service for the chilli. We ordered spicy pork bone soup. And this is the second time we had it. The soup was very fresh and tasty. Though it’s bone soup, it has plenty meat. Would prefer the meat to be cooked a bit longer so it would be very tender and fell off the bone easily. The first time we tried it was very tender. The Som Tum Thai - green papaya salad was fresh and tasty too. Green papaya was a bit bitter this time, but still ok. The steamed barramundi with lemon juice was fresh, tasty and yummy. It came with broccoli. The fish was melted in the mouth, very soft. The fish was big too, enough for 6 people. The crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli was superb! Big chunk of crispy pork stir fry with Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce, Yumm! Bbq pork neck was well marinated and grilled. The meat was tender. The fried rice was nice and big portion. You can choose the meat. Vegetable and tofu, chicken, beef (same price). Crispy pork, prawns, seafood (extra price). Would recommend the Pad See Ew, my son loves it. Though the portion is much less than before. Noodle soups are nice too. If you dare, try the super nova level of spice 🤪 mine is only devil level. Pad Thai is average I think. Sticky rice durian, very small serve of durian 😅 Overall, I like the food here and will still come here again.

Revisited an OG fave of mine when it comes to cheap eats here in Melbourne and it did not disappoint. What we ordered: 🍲 Spicy Pork Bone Soup $10* 🍜 Dodee Variety (Large) $17.90 🐟 Pla Ka Pow $38.90 🍃 Morning glory w/ Crispy Pork $21.90 🔥 Pad Kee Mow (Beef) $18.90 🥥 Thai Coconut Pudding $10.90 I genuinely would recommend every single dish we ate - like seriously, they were all PHENOMENAL. *If you guys are in the city make sure to take advantage of the $10 spicy pork bone soup special that’s valid until the end of this month (June 2024). It’s available at their Little Collins branch for dine-in customers between Monday to Wednesday (dinner) so get on it! The broth is so hearty that it soothes the soul. Morning glory is my favourite vege of all time so I jumped at it when I saw it on the menu. Even the crispy pork in it was sensational. I love that it stayed super crisssspy until every last bite! The barramundi (Pla Ka Pow) was our splurge dish for the evening and it was sooo worth it. Great dish for sharing around the table and the best part of it is that you don't have to worry about fishing out bones as the meat is already diced up for you. Also make sure to leave some room for dessert as they have a range of delicious sweet treats on their menu too. We had the coconut pudding which was the perfect finishing touch to our meal. I really like how light it was, just enough to satisfy that sweet craving you get at the end of a big savoury meal.

Had plenty of good experiences at Doodee in the past (more than 20 times dine in or ordering take away) until today. But I guess today is the last time of us going there. We ordered green mango salad which was my favourite dish. When I had the first bite, it was so sour and astringent that I can hardly swallow it, tried again and it was the same. As I had the dish many times before from Doodee and other Thai restaurant, it was never like this before. I kindly asked my partner (who is Thai) to try and she felt the same way, the mango is not ready to be served as it’s too astringent. We kindly asked the waitress to add more sugar see if it will be come eatable. They return back to us with another plate (according to them they made a new one). But it tastes exactly the same as before. It is not about the source or taste, the fact is the green mango used in the salad is not ready to be served yet, and it should not be served. I kindly asked the staff to change this to a papaya salad or something so at least we can eat, never asked a refund. The staff refused and told us we can buy another dish if we like and brought over the manager, who is extremely arrogant and started to speak Thai to me. I kindly asked to speak English again and again and he said ‘we exchanged for you once hence we will not do again. The dish is normal’. Doing this to a regular customer who supported your business throughout COVID and treat us like someone who begged for food is beyond ridiculous. This is Australia and you should learn how to behave to customers and control the quality of your food rather than ignore customer's feedback. We left with the dish almost untouched and yeah, guess we will not come back again nor recommend this place to anyone else. A plate of mango salads weigh more important in this restaurant than a loyal customer’s genuine feedback. And yes we have to eat somewhere else to finish off our dinner. What a funny experience here. The manager decides if the food is okay to be eaten or not by if they exchanged for you. I even tried to explain to him we have been here many times and ordered the same dish many times, we were trying to provide a genuine feedback but I guess it’s not important for him as it’s not his business and our feedback is just trouble for him. Overall, 1 star and will never come back.

One of if not, THE BEST Thai restaurants in Melbourne in my opinion. Originally hailing from Sydney and opening their doors in Melbourne back in October 2017, Do Dee Paidang has been my go-to Thai restaurant ever since I got introduced by a former work colleague. On this ocassion, I came for my birthday dinner and ordered a variety of dishes from deep fried soft shell crab, to beef red curry and their Pla Rad Prik (Deep fried Barramundi) with the latter being such a standout and mouthwatering dish! All the dishes are served by either a waiter or a robot. In our experience they were served by both. It's also important to note that you have to order your food via QR code and fortunately the restaurant provides free wifi, given the location is a hotel's basement. In addition, if you choose to pay with cash through the QR code, you will have to go to the counter and pay immediately (this may not be obvious as from a previous experience I was told by a waiter that I needed to pay first). Only negative I have is that the drinks menu isn't the same as the one I tried in Sydney ever since covid as I hope to see the Thai Ice Coffee back on the menu in Melbourne one day. Hot tip: I recommend to only visit this branch as opposed to their other Melbourne branches as I find the menu here to be more extensive and the food quality tasting much better. Overall, an amazing restaurant that I'll definitely return in a hearbeat when craving Thai food!

Super yum and super authentic! Brought me back to Thailand. The menu can be a bit overwhelming because there are so many options. I ordered the Tom Yum which was creamy spicy perfection. I forget how spicy and delicious Thai food is. It wasn’t too spicy, but enough to get a little sweat going. The Tom Yum had prawns, lemongrass, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, ginger, lime juice, cilantro, and of course chilies, the staple to any thai dish. Hands down, best Tom Yum I have ever had! It’s going to be really hard to top it. It was so delicious. For drinks I went with the Thai milk tea to wash down all the spicy goodness. I had faith in the food being so good I order the Pad Kee Mow to go. I knew it would be great for lunch the next day, oh boy it did not disappoint. Again I was floored at the authentic amazing taste and quality. Flat rice noodles with chilli, garlic, egg, chinese broccoli, basil in a black sweet sauce and oyster sauce! YUMMMM There’s sitting in the little alley way and then they have a bigger restaurant space around the corner. Eat in the alley way if you can, makes the whole experience better. The alley way isn’t great for groups though, a total of maybe 9 people fit inside. Again plenty of space for group in the main part of the restaurant. Overall so happy with the service, ambiance and the authentic yummy food

I had been hearing good things about this place, finally got to try it. The place is quite big, has sort of night food court feel to it. Robot waiter was delivering foods. Tried their noodle soup, it was the one with tender pork. They called it tom yum soup, but to me it was quite different than tom yum since it wasnt tomato based, broth was clear but it has that zing of sour and spicy (you can choose spiciness level to none at all). It was one of the best broth! And the Thai instant noodle was so nice, didnt know what it was but glad I chose it, it was thin noodle with nice flavour. Had their red lime soda. It was like raspberry fanta but a bit more sour. So happy I tried. Food came out pretty quickly. It’s now definitely one of my favourite noodle place now. Edited: Came back and had their noodles again, this time had combination all pork meats and found I wasnt a fan of the ribs. While the meat is tender enough to fall off the bones, but I found the meat is very dense compared to the sausage and meatballs, so I dont think it went well with the whole dish. And level 1 is spicy enough for me, my friend had level 3 and she found it too spicy, and she has high tolerance level of spicy! Edited: Tried their matcha drink which was too sweet, and also watermelon soda drink which was way too sour!!!
