Tucked away in a laneway just off Main St is one of Eltham's hidden little gems. Owned and operated by ex-giant steps (Yarra Valley) chef Gino this charming, cozy little spot will become your local favourite very easily. With only a tiny little space to work with Gino and the team pull of magic in both the bar and kitchen right before your eyes, delicious tapas dishes like the prawn rolls and paella will have you coming back again. The cocktails list each thoughtfully crafted has plenty of variety to satisfy, and if not a which chat with the ever charismatic Gio will have him making something from scratch to match what your feeling. As a local of the area I am both proud and delighted I no longer need to travel to the city to find great tapas. * sidenote - the bar is small so to fit your group I highly recommend sticking to a smaller group of around 6 and booking ahead. The outdoor area is undercover and is quite delightful, with at night.

Unfortunately the food was very underwhelming. The kingfish tasted old or like it may have been frozen, the sauce saved the dish. The potato’s were soggy, and cold in the middle, a simple dish that was poorly executed. The muscles were so average for the price of the dish, tinned muscles with chips felt very lazy. Thank god the meatballs were amazing and absoutley saved the night, meatballs were really tasty the sauce was well done, would eat that again but only that. Would only come back really for drinks. We live locally and have been wanting to come here for a while, disappointed in the food mostly and the service was pretty lack luster. The atmosphere of the place and the aesthetics were really vibey are perfect for a date.

Where to start...we ordered 2 drinks. 1 came after 15min and the other after 30min... We also ordered 3 tapas which we knew they are supposed to be small, but not thattt small! The patatas bravas was literally 1 medium size potato. The croquetas were okay, and the other didn't even arrive after waiting for an hour. We spent $60 and we felt so empty that we had to go somewhere else to have a proper meal. It is just so ridiculous that we couldn't even cheers together for my birthday, because, like I mentioned earlier, my wife had finished her drink when I received mine 15 min after hers!!! Overall I DO NOT recommend this place.

My group of 6 people really enjoyed the food that we managed to get here, very scrumptious. Unfortunately we left the restaurant still hungry, we had attempted to order several more items off the menu but they were sold out (tacos, patatas bravas, cauliflower, empanadas, king prawns, croquetas).

We ordered a few serves of the meatballs which were so delicious (definitely our favourite), the brie which was flavourful. We were lucky to get one cauliflower serve which was delightfully full of spices and a serve of empanadas which were good, however when we tried to order these again they had sold out. One of our group members was lucky to get the one and only taco for our table before they sold out. I managed to get one, very small, croqueta before they also sold out, it was cheesy and I could've eaten a dozen of them, so delicious. The artichoke was also very nice and we wish we'd have ordered more.

We understand the staff were very busy as the bar was packed, but most of the food didn't come out until much later. First I received my small croqueta and then the others received a serve of the kingfish, then after that it seemed like we waited a long time for more food.

Staff were friendly and apologetic when we asked when the other dishes were coming. Overall, I would go here again but maybe after eating a meal beforehand. Great place to have a couple of drinks with mates and a snack.

Note: DISABILITIES: not wheelchair accessible, narrow small venue with...

Given all the comments we'd been reading, we were very keen to try this place. To our surprise, the experience didn't live up to the hype for a couple of reasons.

We ordered two "small" dishes, two "larger" dishes and a side. I put those words in quotes because the sizes at this place are far smaller than any other tapas restaurant we've ever eaten in, both around Melbourne and even throughout Spain. That's not necessarily a bad thing of course, unless you're being charged over 30 dollars for a "large" dish that is the size of an entree everywhere else.

Also, our side (which was no more than a handful of fried potatoes) hadn't been cooked properly. The potatoes were raw in the middle. When the girl serving us noticed we'd left half of them and asked if everything was ok, we told her they were raw and she said she would tell the cook. She did not tell anyone while we were still there. Whether or not it was mentioned after we left, i obviously can't say.

Aside from the potatoes, everything tasted great. Even my glass of wine was nice. Even so, was it over $140 worth of great. Absolutely not. We've eaten better (and more) food for less than that, in suburbs where you would expect prices to be steep. I'm sorry, but in the end we'd felt a little ripped off.

The "icing on the cake" was when we were asked if we'd like to leave a tip. I had to use all my willpower to keep a...
