Augustus Gelatery + Acai Eltham — Restaurant in Melbourne

Recently visited on a busier than usual day due to a street festival in eltham.

Things I liked: decent range of classic gelato flavours friendly and efficient service on a very busy day

Things I didn’t like: texture of the gelatos grainy/icy rather than smooth no specific option for kids size (have to pay for one scoop minimum at standard price, which is way too much for a young child) can’t split a single scoop size between two flavours half-half (which is possible at other gelato stores I have visited in Melb)

Overall - probably the best (perhaps only) gelato place in Eltham/ Diamond Creek area. Satisfying, but definitely better options closer to the city if you want to travel a bit further for high...

Strange experience here recently. On Nov 16th, I came into the store to buy an ice cream cake (which was delicious). The service in the lead up to my purchase though was quite poor. This was at 8:50pm on a 30 degree day so the shop was understandably busy. What wasn’t understandable, however, was one person serving the counter. Instead of having the second staff member assist his busy colleague, they began to pack up and put away ice cream into the freezer. This was at 9pm when my understanding was they closed at 10pm. This led to 20+ minute wait times. Surely the customer should take priority over packing away items? Really poor...

Product was very good. I always go there for amazing acai. I went there tonight and was heavily disappointed. I had to go back twice because they got my order wrong when I clearly told them twice. What I wanted I said I didn’t want granola. They gave me granola. I said I wanted Nutella they gave me Biscoff this is only happened once to me but I would not appreciate if this happens again. The girl was very distracted and was talking to her other crew member and was not focusing on the job. They were talking about their old memories from primary school and need to.
