After waiting 3 months for the owner to send his promised follow up to my complaint I have decided to write a review. This is my local pub that I would eat at weekly for many years and really enjoyed being able to take the short walk for a pint and parma and listen to some great music. The Lord Newry was a favorite destination. Unfortunately, the recent lack of customer service standards is disturbing. My partner and I witnessed 2 staff members helping themselves to our order of chips before being taken to our table and then giving attitude instead of an apology when questioned about it. Another time 3 staff decided to fully swap each other's clothing behind the bar and one served a customer in their knickers, needless to say this sort of behavior is not really suitable for a family friendly pub. You should expect basic professional customer service standards from a hospitality business, if they have not improved then there is no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible experience two nights ago where we waited about an hour and a half for basic pub grub, which when it eventually did come, our was average at best, and my childās pizza was almost inedible. No, it wasnāt a full house, it was a mid-week quiet night out. The staff were apologetic after we asked a few times about what was happening, and apparently there was only one cook in the kitchen. Still, a more honest approach would have been that they stopped taking new orders and been realistic about the wait times so we could cut our losses and find somewhere else to eat. The food and service was well below what was expected from what used to be a character filled fun local to visit. I feel ripped off given in a cost of living crisis, the few treat meals out should be worth it. I wonāt risk...

Sometimes you just want to have a good honest feed and a conversation with mates that mainly revolves around bodily functions. Sunday nights spent playing pool and sweating out the weekend's sin whilst fighting off the existential dread of Monday morning are a must. So many of the world's problems have been solved within its walls. Speaking of walls, they are adorned with some of the most spectacular examples of nautical op shop artwork ever. The staff are very accommodating, devastatingly attractive and very good chat. The music has made me quietly whisper "tune" to myself on many occasions. The toilet graffiti could use some improvement, but on a whole isn't too bad. All in...
