Only just having changed hands, loyal customers, found the cost has increased significantly more, fish batter tasted like chemicals, husband and wife team very rude to customers. While waiting, witnessed one lady come in after her daughter paid $18.50 by eftpos for two flake and minimum chips, only to realise they did not include a small sneezy tomato sauce or lemon slice with her fish after tapping her card (I heard her ask for a slice of lemon and a squeezy tomato sauce earlier when placing her order)... the daughter then asked again when she realised they had forgotten to add these to items to her order if she could please get a sauce (which was a whopping 40c for a tea spoon serve of sauce) and was told by the male owner that she can no longer pay by eftpos (not credit mind you but using savings) even though A) he forgot to add it to her order and B) she did not have any cash at all on her. The poor girl was flustered and left. Shortly after the mother came in querying why they couldn't just through in a sauce free of charge given they had forgotten to add it to her daughters order and because they did not allow her to tap the card after the initial payment for the main order had gone through...? The owner's wife then intervened abusing the poor customer, telling her to 'get lost'... yes I kid you not. Very disappointing to watch. The most effective customer service in my view would've been to apologise to the daughter for forgetting to add the sauce and lemon wedge with her very expensive order to begin with... and then throwing it in free of charge afterwards as it would've cost them nothing, but would've gained them credit for valuing their customer. This all occurred in front of a few waiting customers and all were disappointed with the husband and wife's behaviour, greed and poor customer service skills. And to top things off the fish tasted like chemicals and was extremely overpriced. Wish the old owners would come back! Very sad to see a long standing small business lose its notoriety after the new extremely rude and unprofessional owners have taken over. Boy oh boy, never in my liiiiiiife have I had so much value - the boys at lost at sea serve up one of the best chicken schnitty burgers I've ever had, chip in a generous heaping of chippies and a can of drink for $9.50 - you've got me sold and you can take that to the cleaners any day of the week. For an occasional vegetarian treat its hard to beat good old chips and potato cakes. When get from here also get cornjacks and fish for husband. He also doesn't mind their burgers though I haven't had.
