Blue Sea Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

With one exception customer service is non existent. Orders are often wrong. Phone orders prioritised over people standing in front of her. Interrupted my ordering to take a phone order. Moral of the story is I never go in if the owner is there.

UPDATE: Against my own advice & better judgment I ordered here tonight. They stuffed up another customers order & didn’t give him his minimum chips. By some miracle they found a small chips to give him straight away. Considering I was waiting on a minimum chips I have no doubt half my order was given to the other customer. So after half an hour waiting, I ended up with a cold hamburger that had been ready for 15 minutes & lost my appetite.

NEVER AGAIN...

Tried Blue Sea Fish and Chips for the first time after a friend had been and purchased great looking fish and chips. We were very impressed. We had butter fish and blue grenadier, both of which were generous moist portions, not too much batter and perfectly cooked. The medium size chips were more than enough for 3 people (we'll get a smaller pack next time as we also ordered potato cakes). Our order was good value for money. The varied selection of fish in the cabinet looked very fresh.(they say it is bought fresh daily and filleted in store) The staff were welcoming and friendly too. Went back as I last ate here in June 2023 and the British lady was delightful..the fare was as authentic as you could get at a good old English Fish n Chippery. So when I got there, I was disappointed not to find that same lovely lady. Anyway, ordered a Barra fish n chip pack, a Flake fish n chip pack and a small side of calamari.
