Loui and Frankos Pizza & Pasta on Broadway — Restaurant in Melbourne

Now I’ve had takeaway from here several times over the last 4 years and it’s been fine: the pizza itself is ok, not the greatest, but the prices are reasonable. However the more recent “restaurant” addition is atrocious; I mean probably the dirtiest food premises I have seen in years with the most depressing vibe. We were the only people there and we were seated without any greeting at an unclean table & given a baby highchair with a layer of dust so thick that it took 3 sanitising wipes to clean 🤢 When I asked the “waiter” if the toilets were out back, he said “I think so” (Sorry, “you think”!?) to which he then proceeded to direct me out to the back alley of the place (as if for the first time himself) and pointed at a small room saying “it’s in there, but it’s not very clean” (Sorry what?!) 🤯 He wasn’t kidding either. obviously the staff take their breaks out back there or something, because the room stank of cigarettes, the sink was full of actual cig ash and the cubicle was pure filth from top to bottom. I wish I had left then and there, sadly our food had arrived & my kid was saying that he was starving. I wouldn’t be surprised if we all get gastro tonight. Oh and I ordered chips that never came (so we only got 2 of the 3 things we had asked for: garlic bread that was burnt & flavourless, and a pizza that was average at best). And when I reminded the waiter about the chips order, I was told “you didn’t order chips”. Ok mate, surrrre. What an absolute shambles of...

Tried Loui and Frankos, hoping that I'd find a nice pizza restaurant pumping with life and atmosphere. Far from it, we walked in and the place was empty. Not even a waiter in sight, as I was about to walk out a guy wearing a turbin came out. Definatly did not look like a Loui or a Franko, mind you if it was genuine Italian Franco should be with a "C" not a "K" but that's another story. Anyhow I was there now and I felt like pizza so I thought I'd give it a go. Despite the empty restaurant and only myself and my wife in the place I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza. We ordered a family with the lot. Pizza was flavoursome and price was reasonable. I ordered a Coke for a drink and I asked it to be with ice but they did not have any ice, slight let down as I love my drinks ice cold. As for atmosphere, well they had a large tv playing Google images with the sound pumped through the audio system and the music accompanying the images was on loop constantly repeating. By the end of the meal I was glad to get out. All in all not bad but I guess they make most of their business from over the phone orders...

The customer service was terrible. Used to be very good originally, now different people work there and unfortunately the customer service has gone downhill. The person I spoke to over the phone to follow up as to why my order was late, was aggressive and yelled back at me telling me they are too busy and that it’s a Friday night and that I should be patient although my order was supposed to be delivered ten minutes ago based on what they are communicating back to me as the customer. He continued to talk back at me and basically show no care for their customers. All I was trying to do is check to see where my order is at and that is what I experienced. To add to that, I get a cancellation notification saying my order has been cancelled. That is absolutely appalling behaviour and far from customer service. Will never order from here again and will be passing on word of mouth of this behaviour. You have ruined what was once a customer service...
