La Chanh — Restaurant in Melbourne

While walking towards another nearby well Established Vietnamese restaurant, we saw their ad on the windows and not so crowded floor, and food seemed slightly different to your everyday VN cuisines. We decided to give this restaurant a try! Boy, we ordered your run of the mill VN Special Broken rice, VN rice paper rolls, and a clear soup pork, prawn, something something (No.18). The waitress was honest and told us we can each order a special drink to get their lunch pack specials. Every one of the dish was done slightly differently, and every dish hit the taste buds! A highly recommend VN restaurant!

Edited: However hours since the visit, my mouth is still dry trying to drink a lot of water and still thirsty. The only logical conclusion is the amount of MSG they must of used in their broth - Far Too much. I am not against MSG as flavour enhancer, but Too Much is...

Host is really lovely and she seems to run the entire floor single-handedly. It can be unexpectedly busy and so a short wait for food, but it's worth it. The beef of bo luc lac was sweeter than I'm used to but my favourite version so far. Bun suong Mekond prawn noodle soup is also good and a more unusual dish to find. Fish sauce chicken wings are also expertly cooked and coated in a sweet savoury sauce.
