Macedon Fish Bowl — Restaurant in Melbourne

I'm only a two minute drive from this place but when I got home my fish & chips were cold. I personally went into the store and I ordered 4 different types of fish, 2 cooked in batter & 2 grilled, plus chips, dim sims, scallops, prawns & seafood sticks. I had a 30 minute wait to receive my order which didn't bother me as it was a busy Friday night and I accept the fact that smaller orders which were ordered after me received their orders before me. The problem occurred when my order was being packed as I heard the man who was packing the order say there was one scallop missing so then proceeded to cook an scallop whilst everything else was packed and sitting on the counter. As a conquence by the time this scallop was cooked and added, the rest of the order was sitting on the counter cooling down. Also the scallop which was later added was cooked substandard as the batter had opened up during cooking so it was burnt and full of oil. When scallops are $3 each you expect a better quality and as I spent $65 for my total order I was disappointed in the outcome. I did ring this place later in the evening and told them what happened but their response showed they really didn't care.I won't...

It's been three years since my first review. This place has gone downhill so much. The fried fish is still good, but the chips are always soggy, the calamari rings have too much batter that is never cooked (because of how thick it is), and the calamari itself is overcooked as evidenced by how rubbery and difficult to chew it is. The scallops were soggy, and of the two scallops I ordered, the batter for both had gotten soggy due to moisture (perhaps water from the scallop?) and the scallops had directly fried in the oil.

This was a horrible experience and I currently feel sick writing this review due to all the oil everywhere (calamari was oily, battery, and overcooked, and scallops had a few small pools of oil).

Have ordered fish and chips from this service twice in the last 3 weeks. On the first occasion the order was mixed up and I was overcharged about $10. Fortunately I wasn’t shy to ask to double-check on my order at the counter and the matter was resolved. I didn’t mind, mix-ups happen, no big deal! But today, the same teenager who was taking the order in the phone the first time, did it again. What’s particularly frustrating, is when making the order I specifically corrected him and repeated that I need “three barramundi” twice… only to find 2 fish fillets when I got home.
