We had a perfect Italian dinner. The decor and hospitality are unique from the moment you step in. Valerio, Annapaola and the entire team welcome you to what feels like their beautiful home, where wonderful dishes are carefully put together. The rucola and pears were incredibly fresh and a great start. Two portions of Suppli bolognese started a war as to who will have the last bite. The pasta, ricotta & spinach filled cappelacci in burnt butter and sage, was so good, we ordered a second dish. And the pizzas - Margherita, Diavola & Gricia - mamma mia. Best we've ever had. Indescribable dough, light and full of flavor. Every ingredient perfectly suited to its counterparts. Finished with Annapaola's tiramisu. In fact, two (again, after finishing the first one and feeling not quite ready to say good bye). For the adults, great Italian white wines to accompany. Throughout the meal, Valerio found the time to see all was alright, and goof around with my boy. Annapaola asked if we needed anything, and made a compliment to my daughter that put a smile hard to erase on her face.
If top notch food in a homey but carefully put together setting while being hosted as if you were at dear friends' home sounds good - go to Made In Casa. We can't wait for...
Read moreThis is a really lovely place where you can find that real classic Italian homey atmosphere. We were a group of 6 so we managed to try a bit of everything which is something I love to do when I try new places. The crocchetta with mortadella was my favourite entree: crispy on the outside, soft in the inside and filled of explosive flavours! We also shared the gamberi pizza for entree and I absolutely loved it! I usually don’t like fish pizza so believe me when I say this was really next level! The ingredients just perfectly balanced each other in a delicate and delicious way. For main I had the agnolotti which are a special type of filled pasta served in a roast sauce reduction that is sensational! I highly recommend to try both the pizza and the agnolotti and find out what real Italian food is. Being Italian myself I am very picky about Italian restaurants, and this is one of the few where I have enjoyed every single dish and I will want to go back to try more. The service is professional but friendly, the details are beautifully placed around the restaurant and there is a general warmth in this place that...
Read moreFirst time there after Assagi Italiani closed. We ordered 1 pasta, 1 pizza, half a bottle of moscato and 1 tiramisu. $160 plus $15 for service fee and 10% weekend surcharge. You got to be kidding me. These Italians think money comes from trees here in Australia or what?. The pasta literally came with 5 ravioli. 1 was frozen. The pizza was not even cut and falling apart without cheese and without flavour. I was really surprised the size of the plates were they were bringing the pasta as not even in fine dinning they serve you that minimally. Service was terrible, they didn’t offer specials and one waitress tried to take the plate out of the table while i was cutting the last piece of pizza. Ridiculous. I literally feel robbed. 15% surcharge for weekend is just a ripoff. Certainly first and last time going there. Thats very disappointing as Assagi Italani wasn’t cheap but at least the portions were very big and the quality was amazing. Seriously save your money and go and get a perfume for your partner. Not worth a penny what we paid for what we got....
