On a recent visit to this restaurant, a support worker who was dining there with a participant suddenly fell ill and vomited. One of the restaurant’s younger staff members showed initiative and compassion by stepping in to help, clearly seeing that the support worker wasn’t in a state to manage the situation.
Rather than responding appropriately, the manager intervened in an unprofessional way - telling the young staff member to walk away and insisting that the visibly unwell support worker handle the cleanup. This decision left the participant without support during a distressing moment.
A colleague from the support organisation soon arrived to assist, only to be treated with open hostility by the manager, who threw cleaning products in their direction and acted in an aggressively dismissive manner.
The way this situation was handled was incredibly disappointing. It reflected a serious lack of empathy, leadership, and respect for others. I would not feel comfortable recommending this restaurant, especially to those supporting someone with...
Read moreWent to the restaurant today 06/04/2025 where we placed our order for a Chicken Gyros open plate. Other families arrived and placed their orders. We waited and waited and everyone else after us was served while we continued to wait. Finally we were served after 45 minutes. Sat at the table with no cutlery or plates and were eventually brought plates. The dish was beautiful to look at and that's where it ended. It was dry and flavourless. Very few chips and salad was not dressed at all. Had to ask for a lemon and tomato sauce bc flavour was lacking! Extremely disappointed and unsatisfied. This is NOT a Greek restaurant by any means. If you like dry flavourless meat/food for a high price then this place is for you. I'd prefer eating at the kebab place in Northland foodcourt. That place packs more flavour and bang for buck than this place. If I could give no...
Read moreMAMO'S STREET FOOD IS A GREEK GOD'S DREAM COME TRUE. I walked in expecting a gyro and left with a full-blown spiritual connection to Mount Olympus. The moment I entered, the smell of oregano and grilled lamb wrapped me in a hug so warm, I thought I was being embraced by Zeus himself. The walls were painted with what I can only assume were the tears of joy from every Greek grandmother who ever lived.
I ordered a souvlaki (they said it was just chicken, but I’m convinced it was marinated in ambrosia), and when I took my first bite, I swear I heard a lyre playing in the background. The flavors were so divine that my taste buds started doing the Zorba dance. The tzatziki was so creamy, I’m pretty it’s the secret to eternal youth. I haven’t looked this...
