McDonald's (Amstel) — Restaurant in Melbourne

I’d love to share an experience with a night “manager” I got to deal with tonight. He was a blonde haired boy with black roots (I can only assume he is a teenager because this person could not regulate their emotions in the moment) who was working on 9/4/25 at 9pm.

I am heavily pregnant, returning from a night shift, and attended the store to return an extremely poor quality meal that I received through drive through, see below pic. For context I ordered a McChicken meal with cheese. The “manager” completed the refund with minimal conversation or eye contact with me. When complete, I asked if he was going to provide an apology for the poor quality food, service and the inconvenience of driving back down in the middle the night. He then went on a wild tangent about it not being his fault and then proceeded to tell me I was no longer welcome in the store (like that was meant to ruin my life 😂) . I did not swear. I did not raise my voice. I did not yell. I did not abuse this person. I did laugh at the complete nonsense of the matter and simply left by stating I’ll make a formal complaint instead. How tough he must have felt kicking out a pregnant lady who literally just asked for a refund and apology for expecting you to do your job and provide a service I’ve paid for.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a correct order and apology for poor quality product and service that I have paid for… but apparently it is. The meal cost me $30 with my hubby’s order. It’s wild how we work so hard for our money, purchase over priced takeaway food and then shock horror, it’s somehow our fault when the food isn’t up to standard. I didn’t think I was being unreasonable asking for an apology but I clearly triggered this individual, who maybe needs some help and perhaps another job.

I’ve put a formal complaint in, probs won’t hear back because based on the reviews here, no one takes accountability at this store. But a word of warning for all customers…. Do not expect any sort of service with people like this delightful night “manager” employed to represent the store and...

Has a faulty counterfeit detection machine just kept us waiting 5 plus minutes without explanation only to come back and rip our 100 note almost in half accusing us it’s fake and then ran 2 other 100 notes through telling us they’re all fake, they were straight out of anz banks atm which would be highly unlikely took them to Cranbourne police station where they confirmed they were not counterfeit notes absolutely appalling to deal with about it won’t acknowledge or admit any wrong doing but did swap the money over after out third visit absolute joke , can’t call the store, can’t get managers details or the staff that destroyed the note, I’m Not sure what training she’s had that she’s referring to and after admitting that their machine hasn’t been working, why they would be using and damaging money, on top of that before the police Confirmation she was going to give us 100 to compensate the ripped note that she wouldn’t accept as payment and stood by it being “fake” , why would you offer us 100$ and to keep our fake 100 note? the principle and process was the problem not that if it actually had been what we would have to do, you need training and maintained functioning equipment if you insist on damaging money and making people out to...

Only just opened recently but already two bad experiences. Ordered in the drive through and all the meals were wrong. Just came back now, got a large sundae which was only half full... Would of got the same from a regular, asked them but they said thats how they fill them? ??

10 3 21 6 pack Nuggets meal, to bad I can't post a photo but it's literally just scrappy batter like a popcorn chicken. Looks nothing like what it's supposed to and barely any chicken.

17 5 21 I know I keep shooting myself in the foot but wow lol. I need to remind myself why I don't bother coming back here. Just do yourself a favour and hit up any of the other ones in the area. My guess is someone bought this and doesn't want to pay for experienced managers to run this mess. Eastlink maccers and city maccers have better quality and standards of service.
