Whats wrong with this franchise location? I ordered a deal for 2 qtr pounder meals, customised the burgers, took it home, then found out all of the customised items were wrong. 1 burger came out a mcchicken sandwhich and 1 burger meant to have no onion (and the label says so) ended up with a whole bunch of onions. And oh, only got 1 fries. The itemised receipt was correct, but i took home a different bunch of products. Yes yes i shouldve double checked, but the whole system defeats its purpose or people running the joint are just too, for the lack of better word, stupid... Its Mcdonalds, the whole point of this fast food system is to cook you fast food with the simpliest options on the table, fast - and not worry bout your order being effed up. Also, 4weeks ago, just ordered a coffee in the same place, 15min no one was manning the espresso machine, i asked someone to take notice. 2 of us were waiting, the other person might have waited longer than me. Finally, manager made us coffees, gave the other girl her coffee with the sincerest apologies. Made one for me, sliding the coffee on the bench to hand it to me and almost fell off the bench, then threw the straw on the bench then fell off the bench for me to pick it up on the floor. Manager walked away with no apologies. And i was in disbilief. i chose my battle, and manager was lucky i chose to ignore it that day. A lot of these employees are young and look soo young (just so rates would be cheaper) and thats why none of them can stretch and display professional work place behavior. Whoever owns this franchise, gawd i hope your loss prevention is solid. Because your store must be the suckiest location in the south east hemisphere...
Read moreMcDonald's Cheltenham could be a decent fast-food stop, but unfortunately, the experience is severely let down by poor management. While the food is typical McDonald's quality and the location is convenient, the service—particularly from the manager—is unacceptable.
The Positives The drive-thru and self-serve kiosks make ordering easy, and when the food is fresh, it’s decent. Some of the staff are friendly and try their best under what seems to be poor leadership. The late-night availability is also a plus.
The Negatives The biggest issue is the management. The manager at this location is incredibly rude and dismissive. Rather than addressing concerns professionally, they come across as uninterested, unhelpful, and at times, outright condescending. My personal experience was frustrating—I was treated poorly, and any attempt to resolve an issue was met with an attitude that made it clear customer service is not their priority.
This lack of leadership reflects on the overall service. Orders are often incorrect, wait times can be unnecessarily long, and staff seem either overwhelmed or indifferent. Cleanliness is also a problem, with tables left dirty for far too long and bins frequently overflowing.
Final Thoughts I wouldn’t recommend this location unless you have no other option. The food is standard, but the service—especially from the manager—makes for an unpleasant experience. A little respect and professionalism go a long way, and unfortunately, that’s sorely...
Read moreHad a strange encounter at the Cheltenham McDonalds tonight whilst paying at the drive thru. I tried to pay with my phone and before the machine said approved or anything else the girl at drive thru said "yep" and rushed us on with no receipt and before the eftpos machine was finished processing. I have my phone set up in a way where it tells me when payment coming in or out and received a notification that it had failed. We told the person at the next window and the drive thru girl came over and said payment didn't work and said can I give her my card instead where she were to take it to the back to put it through. I asked if it was possible to bring the portable eftpos machine here and she said no? Even though the first machine we paid on was portable already?? So then i just gave her my phone to tap again and she took it out of my sight to pay. Very odd experience considering its not normal practice to give someone your bank card so they can go out of your sight to make a payment and no receipt for my purchase after even when the first transaction declined. I only knew it declined when the notification on my phone came through. The drive thru girl was not apologetic at all and came off quite demanding when asking for my card especially when I still had my phone out. Be wary as I have seen scams online where people try to write down/ take photos of your card details. Also there was only one other car with us...
