Had to wait awhile for this to open but can see why the fitout is great! Hadn't actually been to a Pancake Parlour in years but glad to see still had spinach and feta crepes while husband had shortstack with egg white omelette. I loved mine and would have again, he wouldn't. Had this at 9.30am then at 1.15pm after movies (Top Gun don't miss) went back. Coffees (flat white and decaf soy latte good but way too much foam on soy latte) and I had lemon and sugar pancakes (truly a classic) while husband had mini pancakes with blueberries. The decor is really nice too. I also noticed was very popular with families. However while our waitperson in morning was great the one in the afternoon was not. She seated me then proceeded to ignore me so had to get attention of someone else, she was really bad. Would go again. But would like to see more savoury vegetarian options instead of just spinach and feta crepe. 5.2 went with 2 kids. 1 had basic pancake and icecream while other had pancake with ice-cream, hot chocolate fudge sauce and sprinkles. And there was a lot of choc sauce! I had spinach and feta crepe while husband had devonshire pancakes. Really good service and would go back. 10.4 went back and had spinach crepe again and husband had eggs and bacon. Note waitperson (Zoe if I remember correctly) was fantastic! 6.7 here with 2 kids who both had Alice in Wonderland (pancake with ice-cream, chocolate sauce and sprinkles). Looked delicious! Though I had spinach and feta crepe and husband had blueberry and rhubarb pancake. This is a great place to take kids. 4.4.24 spinach crepes for me, farmers breakfast for friend and basic short stack for teenager. 30.3. Great Easter Saturday special, with...
Read moreIf you read another 1 star review below from a week ago talking about the manager losing it with a customer, guess what? I was that customer, with my entire family from abroad, 4yo and 2mo kids. We are regulars, we go there often and have, overall average experiences, but it's the only pancake place around us. This particular day we were 6 adults, one 4yo and a pram with a 2mo. We were initially seated on a very small table for all of us, so instead of ordering food, I asked nicely to be moved to a bigger space, given the place was almost empty. The manager's reaction was less than ideal and she added "next time if you are coming with a pram you should let me know so I don't have to setup the table twice". I was frozen and my entire family asking me to translate what she said in such a bad mood.
We moved, but while we were seating (it takes a while for a bit party with kids, you know) the lady came through us saying "you are standing in the middle, are you going to seat?". I couldn't take it anymore and so I asked what the problem was, and of course she did not reply, instead, she talked to the person on the kitchen and they both laughed, probably at my expense. Then I asked her to act profesionally, which she replied with more laugh. She also denied to say what her name was. The highlight of her behaviour was her extremely rude and unprofessional attitude.
We left.
To the other reviewer and all the people on the place that day, I'm so so sorry. It was never our intention for you to have a bad time. We had to go find another place ourselves to have something to eat too, and the night was ruined for all...
Read moreGood service but overpriced food.
Nice, new venue and definitely quite popular already - so I recommend making a booking to avoid disappointment.
We ordered two ‘regular stacks’, one with vanilla and one with chocolate ice cream. We also got a serve of ‘chicken strips and cottage fries’. And for a drink, we got a chocolate ‘swiss mountain malt’
See below for the breakdown of my thoughts regarding each of these items (:
Pancakes: You really can’t go wrong with pancakes, and they did taste delicious. But if you think about the price point compared to what it actually is (flour, sugar, etc.) then it is a bit of a rip-off. But hey, they do the cooking for you so I understand. And at least it’s yummy.
Savoury: As for the savoury menu, it’s not too bad. Taste is there, but obviously not their specialty. Although I was surprised it wasn’t worse. The chicken was season alright and the potatoes were yum. Nice that it came with two sauces as well. But that salad was miserable and should’ve been left of the plate as if had no dressing or taste in general.
Drinks: The Swiss mountain malt has a very misleading name haha. It is not as big as it makes itself seem. I went in expecting a nice thickshake-like drink with some whipped cream on top maybe. But it was a sad cup of blended flavoured milk that was mostly bubbles of foam - so it’s not bang for your buck at $8.90 for 1/2 a pint!
Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back because the of the price. But nice atmosphere for a catch-up and would recommend to someone who is less...
