I feel obliged to share my honest review of my experience at Molly Rose this past Sunday. I found the service very unwelcoming and dismissive. I attended the bar to get an idea of which limited brews they had on tap and was basically ignored by the bar staff (one lady in particular) for 2 mins. When she finally asked "are you right mate?" (hardly a kind greeting) I asked for some info on their limited beer options. Her response was to hand me a menu. I read through it and decided what I wanted and she continued preparing other drink orders and not taking my order for another minute or so (I was the only customer waiting at the bar). Another staff member then asked if I needed anything and I told them I was looking to order a beer and informed them the other staff did not seem interested in taking my order. I was informed by second staff member that they preferred customers to order through their QR code. I informed them that I came in to order just to get more info on the limited beer options as the online page did not provide a detailed description.
Following this initial poor experience of the service I was then very disappointed in the QR code ordering option. When ordering it defaults to automatically apply a tip and requires you to select to opt out if you prefer (I find this to be a very dishonest practice). After inadvertently paying a tip on my first QR code order, I accidently added it to my second order and then realised before submitting. I went back to remove the tip and no matter what I did on the online platform there was no way for me to remove the tip. I removed the drink from the order, added it again but that didn't work. I even closed the page and opened the page with the QR code again, added a new drink and the tip was still applied (there was no way for me to remove it). In the end my friend had to order the drink for me on their phone so that the tip would not appear. This drink then took 10 mins to be delivered, after I went inside to ask about it I found 2 staff chatting and not addressing the drink orders which were lined up. This happened after my friend had received a drink in no less than 1 min.
Overall it was a very disappointing experience for me. Especially as a big craft beer fan who was looking forward to seeing this brewery in person, being one I had known of for a while.
I liked the beer garden and beer, but nothing can improve the experience I had with the staff. I don't think I will attend again after the service I...
Read moreMolly Rose Brewery is a small, humble gem in the north (newly renovated) that delivers an exceptional combination of delicious food and outstanding drinks. The venue, named after the owner’s grandmothers, exudes warmth and charm. It has a tap room with barrels and tables, as well as a refined and stunning dining area.
Their drink selection is diverse and impressive, featuring wine, beer, cocktails, and a variety of options available in cans, bottles, and on tap. We had the pleasure of trying several options, including the Hazy Lemon Ale, Lager #3, and White Peach & Grapefruit Sour Ale, all of which were outstanding. While the Kuro Japanese Lager had a unique and intriguing deep, umami flavour, it didn’t personally suit my taste.
The food menu takes inspiration from Asian cuisine and executes it extremely well. Each dish we tried showcased impressive flavours and creativity. The quality of the food exceeded our expectations for a brewery, and we would happily return for the food alone. The dishes were fresh, layered with flavour and texture, and each item on the menu was seamless with the others. Our favourites included the stuffed chicken wing, the Char Kway Teow, and the Greens.
Our experience was exceptional, leaving us completely satisfied by the end of the evening. We were so impressed that we even took a 4-pack of their Hazy Lemon Ale home with us! The service we received was fabulous, with our waiter providing attentive care and radiating a contagious positive attitude throughout the night. We couldn’t find a single complaint, and we are already planning our return, perhaps with some...

September 2020 “It was time for a beer, a good cold beer” haha and this microbrewery was awesome. The service was welcoming and friendly, and the beers well Yes!! Soo good.
I had a “Shoulders of Giants” beer which was a North West IPA and one of the best I’ve tried. It was bold old school American IPA showcasing cascade, centennial & Chinook hops w a citrus and pine flavour. This was amazing!! Yummo.
My partner tried the “When Life Gives You Lemons” Lemon Farmhouse Ale. This was dry hopped and fresh lemons w a clean and crisp specialty malt etc lol. All I know was this beer tasted like lemons, but so mild and it was fantastic!
This place is definitely worth a visit and I am definitely going back...
