Mount Martha Fine Foods — Restaurant in Melbourne

My husband purchased 2 individual size Beef Burgandy pies at lunch time today. The staff member packed them up and gave them to him. We took them out to eat only to find one pie had a 5 centimetre chunk taken out of the pastry. Very disappointed in the customer service as there was no way the staff member could not have seen this when packing the pies. I then called the store and spoke to Ned who asked me to send a photo which i did. No response and no aspology. I had been there before and had no issue. After this level of poor customer service i wont be going back. Amazing at no point does Ned apologise not over the phone during our conversation or in the review nor acknowledge the poor customer service. Had he at any point said " this is not the service we usually provide, sorry" then i would not have posted the review. Being twice his age i have been buying pies for a long time and i have never seen anything like this with a pie before. I definitely dont recommend this shop purley based on customer service alone which everyone can see on this review. I have never written a negative review before, that is how appalled I am at the lack of customer service, that a staff member can visually see a pie like this and hand it to the customer, not the type of customer service i am used to! Perhaps some training for staff and management...

My partner and I had not visited since before Covid so we were delighted to find a table in this unchanged place. And the prices had not gone sky-high either! Huge blessing for pensioners. My partner had their fish and chips and was pleased with those. I chose a beef burgundy pie and chips. Sadly the pie was quite badly burned on top in one spot so I didn't like it as much as I should have. We took home a vanilla slice and that was fresh and delicious. I also bought 2 small muffin sized carrot cakes. One was fresh and good. The other was horribly stale. This was really embarrassing because I served up the stale one to a guest the next morning. I am not going to buy cakes or muffins in a Cafe ever again. I've been disappointed so often by stuff that looks good on display but has been there...

We used their catering service on 26th March and couldn't have been happier. The hot selection were all delicious as were the cold choices especially the prawn ones and peach & prosciutto. The sandwiches were delicious and full of fillings. Ned was so helpful. As we had our own waiter's the cold canapes were delivered to us all plated up, with warm ones in foil containers ready to pop in the oven. He also asked if we'd like extra spare platters to serve the hot food on and these were complimentary, no extra charge. Couldn't have faltered the quality or taste of the canapes Dealing with Ned was an easy pleasant process. Wouldn't hesitate dealing with Mt Martha Fine Foods if needed again. Thank you to...
