Went to this lovely new restaurant 👍🏼 The decor with its stacked wooden fine wine boxes, paintings, cabinets and white table cloths. The furnishings and French type of chairs are all very comfortable and homely and the place looks a bit like restaurants do in France too.
The first small bites dish that I got was an anchovy on whipped ricotta & a piece of crispy rye toast 🐟🍞
Second dish from the small bites section was this delicious eggplant pastilla with preserved lemon date & almond inside that comes with a yogurt and olive oil tasting dipping sauce 👌🏼🍋
For entree I had the scallops. Wonderfully cooked in a brown butter sauce 🧈
For main I got the grass fed MB+4 Porterhouse steak which is served with hand cut French fries & crispy cabbage slaw. The quality steak is very nicely done, cooked with Japanese hibachi charcoal and has some tasty herbed butter on top 🥩🥔🥬
It’s BYO so you can bring your own bottle of wine. I brought this smooth easy going Shiraz from Heathcote which couldn’t have been a better wine match for the steak 🍷
The bread with butter is so soft and fresh and perfect for mopping up any sauces on the plate with 🥖
For dessert I had the chocolate mousse served with sour cherry & whipped cream. Such a classic, this one’s not too sweet and has a slightly darker chocolate flavour 🍫🍒
The service was warm, friendly and professional too 👏🏼
This place is clearly designed by someone who likes and understands good restaurants...
Read moreThis café is an absolute gem! Their egg sandwiches are fluffy and full of flavour, and the tuna sandwiches are perfectly balanced—fresh, tasty, and satisfying. I also loved their cappuccino—smooth, rich, and made just right. The restaurant environment is so elegant, making it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a meal. They also serve lunch and dinner, and I highly recommend people come to try as well. The food and coffee are consistently excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Definitely one of my favourite spots, highly...
Read moreGOSH! This place was just what we needed, stylish & funky enough to feel like you’re in the groovy inner city (think Fitzroy or Collingwood). Absolutely superb food to rival any of the Melbourne French Bistros of Prahan, South Yarra or Fitzroy . We will definitely be back for dinner . Bonus points: Many GF options for gluten sensitive people (an increasing number of people) Also fabulous choice of music, not too jarring or loud, favourites like Billie Holiday,...
