Jiffy cream cleaner - get it! for beyond the main room there into the toilets. Totally scungy place. Cleanliness goes beyond polished glasses on the table. And vacuum, flies and dust along carpet as soon as enter restaurant and knew we were in for a “treat.” BBQ chicken was good, (but only ultra basic cooking skills are required here), when another dish came out, the sauce tasted exactly the same as the marinate for BBQ chicken. A joke. And raw vegetables warmed in the mixed veg dish. What are you trying to cook?? Seriously. Even a small child can mix ingredients together and say, “look what I prepared for you.” Papadums were like smelly sock cardboard. The desserts are delicious you can have that!! I’ve eaten at many Indian places and this I don’t know where others get their ‘5’ stars from, to give. But it is Ferntree Gully, after all. While the price can be seen as fair, you can see why they say you get what you pay for. This indian restaurant fails to satisfy. I ordered a chicken vindaloo. A variety of spices have been used and while this dish does have flavour, the chicken was too soft and mushy (marinated for too long), the sauce was too watery and a separation leaving 2 different consistencys were seen, suggesting this was frozen and reheated. The nann bread has to be the biggest let down, there was barley any cheese and the bread was of noticable low quality, it lacked softness and the flavour that you would expect. Highly recommend! My partner and I finally dined here last Saturday (22/05) having otherwise only ever ordered from them via MenuLog. Mumbai Grill has never failed us - their dishes have always arrived on time, hot, fresh, and full of flavour. Visiting the restaurant was an even greater treat - it was warm, inviting, and we were treated like the only patrons there despite sharing the night with other tables plus a large take-away order for a party.
