Paddys Tavern Ferntree Gully — Restaurant in Melbourne

Pretty cool little place out in the suburbs of ferntree gully. A little small with a few tables for dine in. Recommend to book a table if you want to sit inside. There is an outdoor area which can be pretty cold in winter (even with the heaters on) basically a pub with pub meals on the menu. Food was ok. My T-bone steak was over cooked but the rest of the meal was fine. Beers are beers and they also have other alcohol behind the bar. Pay as you go system with no tab. Friday night was when we went and there was a live band playing Aussie rock tunes. Got a little bogan-ish towards the end of the night but what do you expect from an irish pub. Such a brilliant little pub! The people who run is are clearly loved by the regulars, with banter and jokes flowing most of the night. Good selection of premixed drinks, and the standard assortment of straight liquors. We had the pleasure of live music the night we went, and it was safe to say they picked the right band and music selection for the pub, people were up dancing and singing along. It was a really joy filled night, no issues with fights or sleazebags. Thanks to COVID there is a great outdoor area out the front, undercover. Plenty of room for the smokers to stand around talking, without blowing smoke over us non-smokers. Awesome. My friend is hard vegan and not much on the menu for it in fact like two choice's. Not their fault. It is a choice for the person. The Irish traditionally are about staples really. Meat is on the menu. They have vegetarian dishes btw. They fully accommodated her choice of preferences, gave her options to choose from because there food is fresh and had it available to change it up.
