I was just walking in the street starving and I saw this restaurant afterwards without hesitating for a second I embarked the Restaurant. While entering I was mesmerised by the decoration and neat and tidiness of restaurant in great extent. I was with my friend and all of our tummy was crawling so we couldn’t wait food to be served on our table, we immediately ordered for Samsosa in Untray after Quickly glancing menu card. Wait staff were enthusiastic so they promptly served us after good greeting. Samosa with Mint chutney was magnificent. It didn’t take a time for us to finish such delicious samosa and chutney. After Untray our main course was followed by Lamb cutlet, garlic naan and Chicken curry along with Daal makhani. Thereafter, I needn’t to praise the cuisine since it was the best dish I have ever had in Melbourne so far among Indian cuisine. Curry was stupendous, Naan was simply brilliant and Meanwhile Lamb cutlet I couldn’t even explain it authenticity of test as it was simply mind blowing. As far as I have experienced it was the best I Food I ever had in a while. So judging from my experience, I would highly recommend to those Food fanatics to visit this restaurant and give a go. I assure you that it won’t disappoint you on contrary you will be delighted by their gratitude and mouth...
Read moreLamb dishes (we had Rogan Josh and lamb korma) - either/both wrong meat cut for curry, or just too big pieces. They end up being dry and crumbly in a bad way. Korma, flavour is not quite right. Rogan Josh, flavour is nice.
Naans, garlic naan is fine, nothing to write home about. The cheese naan is atrocious - looks like someone bought a refridgerated naan and sprinkled a tiny amount of goat cheese inside. You can't taste the cheese and it's probably a good thing because the cheese isn't great tasting either.
On the other hand, The Namaste chicken - very very nice, but really again, the chicken pieces are too big and so the flavour is missing in the centre of each piece.
The butter chicken - an absolutely fantastic dish, like there's butter chicken at every joint...and then there is this butter chicken. Absolutely fantastic flavour and recipe. Quite unique too.
So perhaps an excellent place for chicken, not so much for lamb. But don't bother with the naans.
This has the makings of a fantastic place but just not really there. Fix the naans and it's a 4. I'd rate it 3.5 but I kind of have to rate it a 3 because that's not an option.
If I just ordered the butter chicken from...
Read moreJust spent $50 on UberEats for a Chicken Korma, Large lamb dum biryani and meat samosa. A little feast for one. NOT WORTH IT!
Portions are ridiculously small for the price point but whatever, at least make up for the potions with great flavours. Both chicken korma and lamb biryani were disappointing. Literally zero flavour! The only reason I order Indian is for FLAVOUR! Nada flavour, not sure why the lamb in the biryani felt too moist, just not happy at all. If the flavours were good, I probably wouldn't have even complained about the portions that much. Not enough to write a review anyway. I guess, at least I am not about to throw away big portions, so thats prob the only silver lining :(
Meat samosa was okay, would reorder that.
If you want great flavours try ATHI INDIAN RESTAURANT (not paid or affiliated, just a really happy customer). Unfortunately on a sunday at 8pm, they were closed. Once you try their chicken korma vs whatever I got from here, you'll understand why I am...
