I went to Parkmore Nando’s last Saturday with my 4-year-old daughter, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
I had to wait 5–10 minutes before anyone came to take my order. The manager was the closest to me, packing orders, but she didn’t even acknowledge me or say “we’ll be with you shortly.” When I finally ordered (just a Seriously Large Chips takeaway), I told the staff I’d be back in 10–15 minutes after doing some shopping.
When I returned, there was a bag on the counter. I lightly touched the top of it to check if it was mine, and the manager immediately pushed it aside saying “you are not David,” then made rude faces and hand gestures towards me as if I was beneath her. I told her there was no need to be rude, but she raised her voice, got extremely aggressive, and even scared my daughter, who said, “I am scared of her.”
I then asked to speak to the manager, only to be shocked that this rude person was actually the manager herself. She claimed that because I touched the bag, she would have to remake the customer’s order, yet she never even changed the bag. She cancelled my order on the spot, processed the refund, and shouted at me to “leave.”
To make matters worse, when we got back to the car, my daughter said, “We will never go to Nando’s because Nando’s people are rude.” My 10-year-old son, who loves Nando’s, has now also said he never wants to go back after hearing what happened.
This manager’s behaviour was unprofessional, aggressive, and completely unacceptable, especially in front of children. She is not an ideal person to be in a customer-facing job, let alone holding the position of manager. Nando’s really needs to take this seriously and address how their staff (especially managers) are...
Read moreI have had the worst experience at this Nando’s which is a shame as I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. The “manager” Shanah was extremely rude to me as my family decided to sit down when I was standing in line to order (plenty of empty tables, no one behind me lining up) - she was quick to tell me off about this and I apologised as having come here for over 20 years sitting down has never been an issue. Her tone, facial expression frankly scared me as it was extremely aggressive, thankfully the only people I felt comforted by were two lovely customers next to me who stood up for me - they lost my business and theirs too as we both left without ordering.
Shanah was the most unpleasant unprofessional person in service I have ever come across. She spoke to me in a very rude and aggressive manner whilst taking my order and when the customer next to me and I asked her for details of her manager she said she’s the only manager and extended her aggressive behaviour towards them too!
